I would like to wish everyone a very prosperous upcoming 2026. Let's make it the best ever.

I also want to discuss our Group. We have not been active. I think there are a few reasons.

First, I think being restricted to @gmail.com means the messages do not go to the members' primary email address and are easily missed.   I also have found Groups to be a little twitchy and non-intuitive at times.

Second, I haven't been a very good leader. Its been a busy semester for me. But when i did post something, there was very little chatter about it, and we haven't had many independent posts from members. We have had a couple rogue posts about "cleaning services." I have eliminated those "members" who signed up for inappropriate reasons. I have also temporarily set up monitoring so I can filter out junk before it bothers you.

We have two choices. One, we can proceed, and I will do my best to be more active. I will post at least once a week and maybe more. This is really an exciting (and dangerous) time for both e-discovery and the academy. It is hard to  image that there aren't innumerable things we can learn from one another though a dialogue. But I can't do it myself. We need a participation commitment from the members. The idea of the Group is to learn and grow through our interaction.

Or, maybe this isn't the right time for this Group, and it should be disbanded for now. You all let me know. If I get a response from this email, we'll keep it going. If not, we'll try the Group again another time.

Yours,

Bill

I think there is good reason to keep it going. These are challenging, fast moving times for educators and students in this particular subject area.

Thanks for carrying the load, Bill.

Bill:
Happy New Year!

Thanks for the “gentle” bump…

This is not all on you. Each of us in this group is responsible and accountable for our lack participation and/or initiative. Each of us is a leader in our own right and should embrace the opportunity you have presented.

I enter my guilty plea related to procrastination and complacency. I hope that we can use this forum to learn from each other and hope that we can give this another shot.

I do request that you add my work email to the distribution list (Eric.r...@kldiscovery.com) to ensure timely identification and responses.

Best wishes for a great 2026,
Eric

I would also love to see this group continue - and thrive.
I know there is lots to learn and lots to explore. It will certainly be more fun to do so together.
Thank you for the opportunity! Sincerely, Jennifer

I would also like to see it continue, but I wonder if a private LinkedIn group would work better? I know we all get so many emails it can be hard to keep up. I find LinkedIn posts a little easier to digest and comment on, and then not get lost in email threads. Just a suggestion.

Best,
Cristin

Happy New Year to All,

I, too, feel like this group and thread is important.  I have to confess a bit of imposter syndrome being part of the group as I teach eDiscovery for Paralegal Certification in the Continuing Adult Professional Education at SMU as opposed to teaching in the Law School.  It has given me pause in responding to threads or posting my own, but the conversation has been enlightening, and I very much wish for it to continue.

Thanks for everything, Bill.

Warm regards,
Rich

Greetings all,

Happy New Year!

I am also in agreement to continue as a group and will commit to being more active.

Bill, I have appreciated learning from your work over the years and would like to continue to do so.

Happy New Year,

Don't be so hard on yourself, Bill.  I echo what Eric Robinson said: we're all in this together.  Let's keep it moving!

I’m in. Maybe a former understanding of what to share? Keeping each other abreast of developments? Everything is moving at the speed of light, certainly couldn’t hurt.

Happy new year all!

Wishing all in this group a successful, safe and enjoyable year in 2026.  If there are some suggestions for submitting content on a specific topic, I would be pleased to participate if I have any useful resource info I can share.  Thanks again.

Best regards,

Joe
