Dear Neighbour, In Don Valley East, we’re serious about service and we’re serious about having fun. Sham Jam 2026 has finally arrived, and we can’t wait to see you for our barbecue tomorrow, Saturday 4 July from 1-3PM at Broadlands Park. I want to begin by answering the questions everyone has been asking me. YES – you’ll be able to catch the Canada versus Morocco soccer match. YES – we’re monitoring the weather. And YES – we’ve got two huge tents to provide lots of cover. I won’t beat around the bush. If you’re looking for great food, great company, and great fun, then there’s no better place to be than Sham Jam 2026. Enjoy a meal, have a caricature made of yourself, and get some henna drawn on your hand – all while checking out the amazing services our community has to offer. We’ll also have performances, games and even a bouncy castle. There’s something for everyone and we’ll be giving out lots of free things like Canada Flag signs, lanyards, hand sanitizer, tote bags, notepads, pins and more. Here are my top tips to ensure the best Sham Jam Experience: 🌳 Broadlands Park has TWO entrances at Castlegrove Blvd and Muircrest Drive. Try to enter through Muircrest Drive to reduce congestion and please respect all parking signs. ☀️ Bring a hat and some sunscreen. We’ll have large tents to protect from the elements, but it never hurts to have an umbrella just in case. Summer days can be so unpredictable! 🏖️ Consider bringing a foldable lawn chair. 💧 There will be water stations if you want to bring a reusable bottle (we will also have beverages on site) 🚻 Public bathrooms will be open inside Broadlands Community Centre. 🏃♂️ Help yourself to food and free items while supplies last, so come early! Here’s a map to help you navigate Sham Jam for the best possible experience. We’ve tried to think of everything that we can to make this the best event possible. Please join us to celebrate our magnificent community and amazing spirit here in Don Valley East. See you tomorrow! Adil
