Toronto! We’re still noticing confusion around when you should call 9-1-1 versus other numbers.

People are calling 9-1-1 for non-emergency calls, which drives up 9-1-1 call volumes and wait times.

So hopefully, this post helps you make the right call:

💚Call 2-1-1 for a referral to community or social services and mental health services like the Toronto Community Crisis Service.

📞Contact 3-1-1 to connect with non-emergency City services, programs and information 24/7.

👮 416-808-2222 is the non-emergency police services number. Call it to connect with non-emergency police services, personnel and programs.

🚨Finally, call 9-1-1 for Toronto Police Service, Toronto Fire Services or Toronto Paramedic Services when immediate action is required: someone's health, safety or property is in jeopardy or a crime is in progress.

Share this post to help everyone make the right call.
