Zero Waste project/program 2013-2015

Good evening,

Some of you know me and some of you dont.. Let me introduce myself, my name is Diedre Tubb, I recently joined the DYUSA google group through Bobby Cox.  I am writing to ask if any of you are interested in having DYUSA involved in a Zero Waste Project through the city/county of San Francisco.  There is a large chunk of money available through Department of Environment Grant program that will run from 2013-2015 depending on the project.

San Francisco has a zero waste goal by 2020. They are compliant to the Mandatory Recycling and Composting ordinance, requiring all residents, businesses and facilities separate their discards into recyclables, compostables and trash. The city/county must divert 40,000 tons per year to reach the zero waste goal by 2020.  

In the attachment is the grant proposal guidelines and criteria.  And the deadline is March 8th, 2013.  I am already tracking information, sponsors.  However, I am seeking for a team to hire if this grant gets approved to develop and coordinate education & outreach events/materials that target a demographic the city/county has neglected.  Also, I am wondering if DYUSA wants to be a sponsor along with NCRA (Northern California Recycling Association) and other zero waste organizations to support this movement.  

Please let me know if you are interested, and I am available to come out to the bay area pretty much all next week, and I plan on attending the Glimmer of Hope event next saturday so if you would like to meet up before, during, after or the next day to discuss details that I need in order to meet the March 8th deadline.
