Sterling Institute of Management Studies
The National Centre for Rural Development’s (NCRD) Sterling Institute of Management Studies is an upcoming Institute located in the lush green surroundings of Nerul, Navi-Mumbai. The Institute offers the two-year full-time MMS postgraduate degree and three year full-time MCA programme of the University of Mumbai. These qualifications are approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, and the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Government of Maharashtra. The National Centre for Rural Development (NCRD) is a registered Public Charitable Trust, founded in 1991 with the mission to promote Rural Development.
We invite participation for the above-mentioned Seminar from institutions actively engaged in research and related fields areas. An application form for the programme is attached. Programme intake is limited and all those interested are requested to forward the registration forms as soon as possible.
FDP Objectives
1) To give participants an overview on how to make an effective Synopsis.
2) To provide a description of the proposed research methodology.
3) To guide the participant, how to write literature review relevant to the research problem.
4) To sensitize the participants on the importance of an argument as to why that problem is important.
5) To provide a description of how the research findings should be described.
Expected Outcome of the FDP
It will be a highly interactive learning experience that will help participants to prepare right research proposal which will create lateral thinking. The participants are expected to receive immediate guidelines and personal coaching from the resource persons.
FDP Meant For
The FDP has been designed for all Ph.D aspirants, faculty members and professionals who have cleared their Ph.D entrance tests and are at the stage of writing their research proposal. The FDP will provide useful guidelines for making a research proposal.
Proquest will sponsor the FDP Registration Fees of participants of the Institutes/Organizations those are the subscribers of Proquest.

Profile:
Prof. Dr. P. S. Rao is a PhD., M.Com and MEP (IIMA). He has a rich experience of 42 years as an educationist and Consultant in HRD, Business Policy and Strategic Management. He has successfully guided 30 PhD and 70 M.Phil scholars. He is a recipient of awards from IIM-Calcutta, AACSB-USA, and NIF-New Delhi. He has written 7 textbooks & presented research articles & papers in national & International conferences. He has visited International Universities like Boston University Business School, Harvard Business School, MIT, Wharton School, Kellogg Graduate School, USA, Asian Institute of Management-Manila, Audentia Nantes University, France. He is associated with 26 Universities in India as External Referee and Chairman adjudicator for Dlitt PhD. Research Guide in 6 Universities. He is currently the President of Indian Association for Management Development and Vice–President Inter-University Council of Business Education and Research, Allahabad.

Profile:
Dr. R. Gopal has more than 27 years of CORPORATE EXPERIENCE. He has worked in organizations like Larsen and Toubro, Bush India Ltd., Tata Economic Consultancy Services and at Siemens. Dr. Gopal has more than 25 years of TEACHING EXPERIENCE as a visiting faculty to several B Schools in Mumbai in the areas of Marketing, Market Research, Direct Marketing and Strategic Management / Business Policy etc. He has also conducted several programs in the USA on topics like How to do Business in India. He has also published more than 60 papers both in Indian and foreign journals. He has been awarded the BEST OUTSTANDING RESEARCH PAPER at the 2nd Asia Pacific Marketing Conference held in Malaysia in October 2007. He is the member of Editorial Board of a book titled “A Panorama of Research Work”. He is also the Chief Editor for the Book titled Papers of the First National Research Conference on BPO / KPO. He is also in the process of writing two books on Strategic Management and Market Research.

Profile:
He has done PhD from University of Mumbai and written five books on management. He has published 165 papers and chaired sessions at USA, Canada, India, Korea etc. He is on the editorial board of Asian Journal of Marketing, International Journal of Management Science and Decisions, Entrepreneurship, JDBIMS, SIES Journal, Synergy, etc. He has delivered lectures in US, Denmark, Nepal, Thailand and Singapore.
