Now is the time to get involved!

Folks,

We now have a small group of parents committed to doing the hard work of getting this school off the ground. But we need more, and we need them NOW!

A charter school application is much more than just the education plan -- although that is a huge part and includes everything from the instructional methods and curriculum to student conduct policies and graduation requirements. There are also bylaws and a slew of employment policies that need to be written. We need to create a detailed budget that includes everything from teacher salaries to electricity costs. We need to figure out a transportation plan, a marketing plan and a school lunch plan. And we need to find a facility!

So, if you're willing to do some work, I need to hear from you ASAP.

Also, from this point on, we will be doing the decision-making and planning outside of this Google group. You will still receive updates on what's happen and notices of meetings through this group, but only those parents who are involved and doing work will be making the decisions.
