The Dynamic Community High School is a community effort to create a charter school in Wake County that will help children with developmental and intellectual disabilities achieve their full potential. This school will integrate core child development concepts — in order to better understand students’ strengths and address students’ deficits — with project-based learning that gives students the experiences they need to absorb knowledge and learn how to use it in real-work settings. Our goal is to help students further their cognitive and social development so they have the best opportunity for full and meaningful lives after school.
By starting the Dynamic Community High School, we hope to create a place where students with special needs can learn skills that empower them to live full, independent lives as adults. We want students to learn at a pace that works for them, in an environment free from bullying.
