Biking a week ago I got a snapped shaft. Was cruising along, shifted
up a couple and started mashing in order to get to a light, and SNAP!,
pedals spin freely. Good that I was pretty close to home to walk the
bike.
Couldn't find a way to get it open to look at things, emailed support,
got a reply back from Thomas Urbanik (Production Manager), suggested
it was a snapped shaft, and passed only directions on shaft drive
removal.
Couple days later had some time finally and took the drive off, and
yup, snapped shaft. If I jiggled the shaft cover you could hear the
shaft rattling around inside. And spinning one end didn't spin the
other.
Have a replacement drive en route.
