Deborah received a question about whether we want to participate in 23
things (in case you haven't heard about it -- it's a web2.0/staff
training thing for lib staff -- in other words, a fun way to get folks
involved in web 2.0)
http://plcmclearning.blogspot.com/
I think part of my question is: who would do administer this? Because
in reality, the folks who are interested in using web2.0 are already
doing it. Those that aren't, well aren't, and most likely wouldn't
(sorry, I've had too many people here in this library laugh at these
technologies, when I try to explain that we need to move forward...)
Maybe we could do our own thing (not quite so extensive? and make it a
month of web2.0?)
I know that 23 things doesn't sound like that much and you can pick n
choose, but I'd rather come up with our list like:
*pick one topic (or do a book review) for the libraries blog
*upload or recommend a photo for the libraries flickr group
etc.
Also, here are some thoughts about what you can do web2.0 wise...
http://librarianbyday.wordpress.com/2009/02/23/what-can-you-accomplish-in-1-week-of-web20/
So, I'd like to propose for our December meeting (pending any feedback
from WAG), that we continue talking about web2.0 technologies and
consider how we could maybe use some of the ideas of web2.0 as a
springboard to enrich the web2.0 things we already do. ;-)
