Hi all,

First off a big thanks to all involved in developing Dygraphs. It does nearly everything I want it to do and the performance is spectacular.

I am using Dygraphs to compare spectrographic data collected on various guitars. Take a look at a current test at http://fredellguitars.com/dygraph/dygraph4.html . The data is inserted into a Google Spreadsheet and updates automagically. As you can see I've added buttons to show/hide individual graphs (using some code from the tutorial as well as others and my own not so hot coding), since you usually only want to compare 2-3 plots. The code for the buttons has to be added manually for new data, which is going to be pretty inconvenient when there eventually will be 100's of plots. So my request is for a similar, autogenerated feature of showing/hiding charts/plots. I think it would be very useful to all users with a large number of data sets.

Thank you

Hi Gustav,

You probably don't need to change dygraph at all, just wrap a bit of additional html and javascript around your graph to allow people to select and compare different traces as an example see: http://research.ng-london.org.uk/scientific/pigments/

I could see implementing this as a basic-plug-in. One thing we never really figured out was registration of options as part of plugin management, but like many plug-ins, option configuration is still not clear.

Hi Joseph,

That is a very elegant solution, and thanks for showcasing it. I have to say I think that is quite a bit beyond my rusty coding skills though.

On a side note I visited the National Gallery just last week. I had a delivery of three guitars to UK and spent a couple of extra days in London just to see the sights (mostly museums). Great museum.

Hi Robert,

That would of course be amazing. Unfortunately I wouldn't be able to contribute with any skills to such a project, since they are severely lacking at the moment (gave up computer for guitars... maybe I should've tried both).

Thanks

HI Joe,

I am a newbie in dygraph a bad english speaker...

What you have done http://research.ng-london.org.uk/scientific/pigments/ is exactly what I need for my project

My dataset looks like this :

DATUM 610010 748020 610110 748090 610015 748025 DIFFLOYER DIFFCHARGE DIFFP.I.

20060101 -1945,3 2148,65 0 0 0 225 203,35 0 225

20060102 -1945,3 2148,65 0 0 0 0 203,35 0 0

20060103 -1945,3 2148,65 0 0 0 0 203,35 0 0

20060104 -1945,3 2148,65 0 0 0 0 203,35 0 0

20060105 -1945,3 2148,65 0 0 0 0 203,35 0 0

20060106 -1945,3 2148,65 0 0 0 0 203,35 0 0

20060107 -1945,3 2148,65 0 0 0 0 203,35 0 0

And I would like to be able to select the different traces

Can you help me ?

Thanks

Stephan
