Hello all! New guy here and super green on top of it. I been playing around for the last 2 hours with dxf2gcode and have fallen in love with it already compared to some other I have tried. Working great. Trying to understand when auto calculating the purple lines vs the blue lines. Are purple lines being designated as inside cuts and blue outside? I have a file and it is making everything inside of a blue lined object purple which should be cut inside by the tool. But it left several stand alone objects as purple to and I want those cut on the outside of the line not in. How do I change them from inside to outside cuts and or am I way off path here. Trying to search for info on inside and outside cuts and I do not get much. I dont want to junk a big sheet of wood testing this on theory. Any help would be great! Attached is a picture of what I am referring to. there is 2 parts on there own there that should be blue I think so they get cut on the outside as they are not inside of any other objects.
Thanks,
Jason

Ok so after some more time here..... I click show path direction. The little arrows show up. I zoomed in and can see what direction and what side it is going to cut on and it looks like it has chosen the correct paths inside and out. I think my question is answered in that it takes care of it on its own. But what do the colors represent? Purple and the blue?

Oh and I also want to say thanks for putting this program out there to those that made it happen. I am so stoked I finally found this it is not even funny. I been using sheetcam and like it just fine but on the trial version you are limited to the 180 lines of code. Just cant buy it right now. tried meshcam honest truth it is easy to use but gave me all sorts of issues trying to get it to work in 2d dxf files. Wants to generate double cuts, weird inside cuts send the z axis up and down multiple times and I am new enough to not know what to change to get it working correctly. I will say dxf2gcode is the bomb! one evening of playing around with it and I am cutting perfect with mach3 on my cnc. Very happy and a huge thanks again!

Attached is some pictures of my brand new cnc router. I built the entire thing. fabbed everything in house and wired it I did it all myself. Full 4ftX8ft cut area. powered by two 1232 ounce nema 36 on X and one nema 34 on y and a nema 23 on the z. Makita trim router. 2 to 1 gear boxes belt driven then they turn a full rack and pinion drive on both x and y.  Just love this thing and having tons of fun and tomorrow is game on now that I have a working g code generator!!!

Nice machine and welcome to the community. So I think you answered all your questions by yourself.

Thanks! Yes pretty much only 2 questions still remain? What do the colors represent? purple and the blue? And how to I change if I want a part cut inside instead of outside?

The color is representing the side where to cut and there is another color highlighting the selecting.

Change the cutting side by selecting the shape and change cutting direction in the context menu (right click G41 or G42)

LOL thanks for the link. I clicked on that link before read through and it meant nothing to me! But like I say I am super green to this whole thing. Newbie big time. So after you linked it again and mentioned g41 g42 I went and did some serious research on what those do and mean. Eureka!!!! I fully understand what g41 and g42 do... Inside cut or outside cut is directly related! So I got this now and I am jamming! Thanks again helping a very newbie operator get through this learning curve! Have a great weekend!
