Hi,

I'm trying to use Dxf2gcode to create inputs for a machine with GRBL-plotter and a GRBL controller. I removed the Z commands in the efault post processor because I don't need them, I only move on X and Y but with the default settings it passes two times everywhere.
I suppose it comes from the Z infeed depth being twice the final mill depth and if I change  these settings everything looks fine when I optimize then export but when I look at the output gcode I realise that some parts of the drawing are missing.

Is there a way to get rid of the Z aspect and only work in XY ?

Thank you for your help !

Best regards,
Antoine.

Hello Antoine,

i think you did remove the Z aspect in the right way. By reducing making both z depths the same and removing all the Z Parts in the postprocessor, all paths should be one time and not showing any Z in the created g-code. If you want me to check you can post your dxf and a picture whats’s missing. Also a postprocessor config file may help ….

Regards

Christian

Hello,

I attached the dxf I use for tests as well as the postpro config. It looks fine in dxf2gcode but I either get double pass or missing lines, no in between. Plus the G0 paths tend to change between DXF2CODE gui and the exported gcode (seems legit when lines disappear but not when I have everything).

Here is an example:

You have the gcode file in attachment if you want to make sure that the problem is not coming from the plotter.

Thanks for your help.

Regards,
Antoine.

Just tried it too:

Everything looks as expected. I don’t see anything wrong in the ngc file.

Note: I selected all of them and changed the infeeddepth to a high value (-10), to ensure only one pass milling.

I checked the order of export (its matching to the order shown in canvas (the numbers in blue). And also there is only one line or arc for each element in the dxf.

Can you check it with your viewer if it shows the 6  line shapes and not more or less ….

Regards

Christian

Try to use a different infeed depth (Should be higher then final mill depth), to get only one pass. Also you need to modify your postprocessor configuration, please check here:
