Do young people in Connecticut really want to live downtown? If so, how can this demand be quantified and tapped? What advice can town officials and developers give them about creating the change they want to see in their neighborhoods?
Connecticut needs as many young people as it can get, to drive our workforce and economy now and in the future, and to help foster interesting communities that will be magnets for economic growth and vitality. This town hall-style forum will give young people the chance to tell officials and developers what will draw them to live in Connecticut's downtowns.
Join the dialogue to offer your thoughts and expertise as young adults and downtown professionals come together to find practical solutions that benefit everyone who plays and stays downtown.

Click here for more information and to register.
At the Partnership for Strong Communities forum on What Makes A Strong Community? we’ll explore ways to strengthen neighborhoods to better attract people to live, work, shop, play and participate in their community. Young people can be an important part of this change, boosting the local economy and tax base, improving aesthetics and amenities, while finding good housing they can afford.
Need Your Input - Living Preference Survey of Young People
If you are in your 20s or 30s, living in Connecticut or living elsewhere but have an interest in Connecticut, please complete our survey about the kind of housing you want. Results will be shared with developers and municipalities to inform their decisions on what housing gets built. We want to be sure they understand your needs. We’ve had a good response to this survey, but the more people complete it, the more robust the results. This survey will close soon. Please take a few minutes to complete it, and then pass it along to friends, colleagues, and relatives in Connecticut and beyond.
