Thanks for making the second year of DWIFF full of fresh films from
local film makers.

I trust everyone enjoyed the screening and awards ceremony this year
as much as last year!

A couple of notes going forward...

-Awards are getting engraved
-We will have them distributed to teams in one months time
-We will be getting out judging notes to the producer of each team
-We will be following up with info on how to get your MAC
professionals training
-We will be working towards an online viewers choice competition, more
info to follow
-Screenings info for top 4 films to follow

If you had fun doing the DWIFF Challenge, then you may want to check

Shane,
You had commented during the screenings that you felt that the film
makers made huge strides in improvement over last year. I just want
to say I think you guys also made great strides forward as well.....I
liked the change in awards categories, and the auditorium was more
spacious, and the food was very good....and plentiful (a bit of a
shortage last year..hee hee). And what a great venue for the
reception. I am not very familiar with Wayne State campus...so I will
be going down to check out the great architecture!!

Well done to everyone....and thank you guys for all the hard unsung
and unseen hard work that must go into these events!!

We enjoyed every aspect of the challenge this year. Thanks for being
so friendly and making it fun for everyone.

We are happy with the judging changes, and feel that the winner was
truly the best picture. Congratulations!

Suggested award categories for the future:
Best Acting
Best Visual Effects (all techniques combined into one category - CGI,
makeup, compositing, basically any trickery to make something fake
look real)

Shane,

Will you please post the list of winners, including team name and
movie title? I think it would be good to see the entire list of teams
& movies, regardless of judging.

As a side note: At the screening I noticed that the slide with the
team names listed only showed the genres but not the movie titles.
Having the titles helps me remember what each team's movie was.

Thanks.

Hello DWIFF Teams!

Producers, you will be contacted soon for arranging the engraving of your awards.  One person from each team will receive an award, and additional awards can be purchased individually for $100 each.  This fee will be paid directly to the local artist who is creating the awards, myself and DWIFF will orchestrate this happening.  Producers, you can expect to receive an email from me in about a week to make this happen.

Also, individual producers of all 2009 winning teams received an email today to arrange MacProfessionals training.  In the email, I requested that all producers who were contacted to get back with me by next Saturday, August 15 to determine who would get that training.

Thanks for being part of this grass roots event!
