Complete installation (retaining the original download file) requires 7.6 GB.
Download file is 1GB. Unzipping it requires another 962MB.
Installation then requires 1.2 to 5.6GB depending on components installed. It is possible to delete the download file after unzipping, saving 1GB.
Minimum size necessary to install the database (small size) plus typical Teradata Tools and Utilities is about 2.2 GB.
Downloading instructions:
Clicking Download results in an IE OPEN or SAVE dialog box.
Click SAVE and then specify a target folder. This will download a 962MB file called Teradata_Express_120.exe into the specified folder.
When the download finishes, double-click this .exe file to unzip the contents. The default location for the unzipped files is in a folder called TDE120 within the specified download folder. This location can be overridden to any location you choose.
When all files have been unzipped, the default action is to automatically run the file setup.exe at the root level of TDE120. This starts up the Teradata Express Browser software, which guides the user through the installation process for Teradata Express.
