Route No. 717Badarpur (New MB Road) Dwarka Sec-9 Metro Station

As per the Delhi Govt. website, DTC has also started the Bus Route No. 717 from Metro Station, Sector-9. 

Today I also see the same No. Bus (717) was plying in the morning via Domestic Airport. The bus of over crowded.

 

The below mentioned Route will not benefit the Dwarkaites as it is passing thru the Sectors where the residents are very less.

Dear Sh Anil,

 

Yes most of the buses routes are decided by the DTC without consulting the RWA's or major forums like ours. I would request the Forum to take up the issue with DTC and write a letter to start or decide upon any route after consulting a major Forum like ours, to ensure that it benefits most of the residents. I know it is and will be impossible to please one and all, but at least we can ensure that most of the Dwarkaaites are benefitted.

This was an existing Route before the development of Dwarka.. This was from Badarpur to Shahbad Mohmedpur through IGI earlier.

We have written earlier to DTC in this matter, as  the Airport authority closed the road through IGI to Shahbad;  the bus used to terminate at Mahipalpur. After taking up with DTC they have extended the DTC buses only, then we wrote again and they ensured private buses also extended upto Sect 9(However they are not going upto Sector 9 they take turn from SPG complex toward Shahbad as most of the commuters in these buses are for Shahbad village.(The only bus service for them).

We may suggest apprpriate route amendments to DTC.

DTC representatives should discuss the routes with Dwarka RWAs to benefit all, though this is now a well known modern subcity but strangely it is also not on the priority list of many community service agencies. Agreed that it is populated by executive class driving in thier own cars/bikes but if the good bus services are there, i am sure many would like to prefer these comfortable buses for daily commuting.

 

second point is strangely these buses only show the destination where they are going and not the origin, why? it is more convenient and practical for an onlooker to know from where to catch that bus if tomorrow he has to take it. All the present old buses show both destinations and i am sure the electonic boards will have instead better options to show information. They can even display what all stops are coming on the route (like in metro trains).

PS: does anyone know any bus towards RK Puram/Bhikaji Cama/Hyatt Regency etc. from sector 7, 9 or 10?.

The link below can be used to find the route with stoppages of DTC buses. As per DTC website the list as of now includes 1500 of 2500 stops others to be included soon (how soon????). Still it should help a lot. Some good features (a) multiple options where available are listed; user can pick a route and view the details of same (b) in case of direct service being unavailable indirect routes are listed,

Bus is not plying at the said frequency. Becomes very difficult for children to wait indefinately. Pl request DTC to make the time gap 20minutes, but ply the bus regularly. Thankyou.

We agree Anilji. Must req DTC to cover areas like sec-8/7/6 in this route.
