looking at the huge crowds of continuous stream of 24x7 shoppers everyday at sec.6/10 it seems day is not far when this market will be the target also.
our security and law enforcement agencies are not smart & vigilant enough and not dedicated enough to do their duties so God save us! Last week there were a no. of chain snatching cases reported in dwarka and police has not been very positive in their treatment of the victims. what does it say about our system?

Maybe we can make Dwarka Police more residents/justice oriented rather than just making a mockery of the system.
I was myself witness to a purse snatching incident at Godrej Appt Sec-6 crossing. The Police came fast enough but were only interested to scuttle the whole matter.

I m of the view that the forum should immediately send an email to the sr. police officials
to take care of the security in all the crowded markets of this area also especially in
the evening rush hours.

the act of terrorism is CONDEMMED by every one...as it not only harms
and kills innocent people but leaves a scar for the entire family
members of the victims who are left behind...but what is more sorry is
the state in which the Govt's act in punishing the terorrists...all
that the govt of INDIA comes out and says after every bomb blast,is we
have learned new lessons from this blast and make sure nothing such
happens again...but till date these things havnt stopped...and it is
really astonishing to know that 156 innocent people have lost life
just in the year 2008 in various bomb blasts..is really high time now
for the govt to get up and start doing somehting..

I suggest the following:

1. Draft Letter to SHO and ACP Dwarka.

2. Please correct/edit the language for better presentation by our elite members.

Thanks,

 SHO  Dwarka

Dwarka, ND-77

Sir,

We acknowledge the good service the police department to Dwarka Sub-City. At the same time we are deeply concern with recent development in the crime, law and orders situation in Dwarka and NCR.

In view of the recent incidents of Terrorist attacks and Chain Snatching we have the following suggestion/complaints, which we sure you will personally ensure safety and security of Dwarkites.

1.  Kindly REMOVE all Pavement/Hawkers unauthorised operated from markets. Please ensure all shop keepers are keeping their display material within their shop area ONLY not to outside.

2. A larger number of eating outs are operating in main markets with Gas Cylinders kept openly outside(such as sweet shops, catering vans, kathi rollwalah etc..etc..). This invites more dangerous situation.  Please ensure and compel the such shop owners to operate within their shop premise and concerned Beat Constables and Patrolling team to ensure markets are clutter free.

3. The festive season see a large number of hawkers on the main markets of Sector 6/10, 4/5, 11/12 and Ramphal Chowk area. As we understand these are not approved as per court directed hawkers policy. Please ensure such hawkers are not put on markets from beginning itself.

4. Please ensure all markets complex entry/exit gates are secured with Metal Detectors and CCTV at the earliest.

5. Please install Public Announcement system in all 7 important markets.

6. You may coordinate with MCD to install the Garbage Bins on appropriate locations, as some of the markets these are installed on entry/exit gates.

7. Some of the Malls that are opened recently in Sector 7, Sector 23, Sector 22 have no Boundary Walls, pose great risk.

The RWA/CGHS managements of Dwarka Sub-City look forward to have your personal supervision and monitoring on these suggestions/complaints.

We appreciate your feedback and status on implementation of the above through reply to share with Members/RWA/CGHS management of Dwarka Sub-City. In case your department require any support from RWA/CGHS/Members, please feel free to contact us.

Thanking you,

Dadwal, Sreedharan asked to attend Monday's cabinet meeting
14 Sep, 2008, 2155 hrs IST, PTI

NEW DELHI: Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Sunday asked city Police Commissioner Y S Dadwal and Delhi Metro chief E Sreedharan to attend Monday's meeting of her cabinet where the issue of securing the city from terror attacks will be discussed.

Official sources said the duo were invited for the meeting so that Delhi government could put forth its views on increasing vigilance in the national capital which witnessed a series of explosions last evening. Dikshit earlier said she would be calling S Dadwal for a meeting to discuss with him as to what the Delhi government should do to add to the security of the city.

She said she would also speak to Delhi Metro chief E Sreedharan to ensure more security at the Metro stations in the wake of blasts taking place near the facilities

the thing that i am unable to undersand is that what is the use of
calling up meeting's after a terror strike...why doesnt our
system(govt) keep meeting's every fortnightly to review the viglance
and security of the city...why arent measure's like unique national ID
implemented..even past president Dr APJ Abdul Kalam says that
implementation and issuing unique ID to every citizen is very
importnt...even the hon'ble LG of delhi had during the begining of the
year said that every one would made to carry ID..but due to vote bank
politics the Hon'ble LG was made to go back on his statemennt...lets
hope that politicians get over there mentality of vote bank...n come
together n make this city and country a safe place to live...

Dear all,
We have become havitual of such blats. This is neither the first time nor the last time(Probably). It is very frustating but let me tell you why this should not happen again and again.

1.Recentely,in almost every part of the India it has happened but only in Case of Gujrat some how they were able crack down the consiparacy.

2.When there was a blast in Gujrat many top politician gave statement that it was against Narendra Modi.

3.When our security agency says SIMI is behind it our senior Ministers publicaly favours.

4.When police arrests Abu Bashar there was a public meeting and procession in Azamgarh by political Party.

5.When Raj Thackrey say do not speak Hindi in Mumbai no one speaks.

6.When voice raised against Bangaladeshi illegal migrants some leaders of the nation talks about their voting cards

etc---etc

I think from present system our expectation can not match.Try to make system effective wherever possible.Be vigillent and ensure next time we all vote with mind rather than sentiments.Till that time pls take care.

Thx
sushil

Dear Sushilji,

I really value your and other contributions by our friends. It sounds absurd by I think that the more we seclude a community within yourselves the likley is that they tend to find themselves different from us. Today I feel that as a nation, we should on prioirty promote ONE-NESS. This will harness a feeling of belongingness among the so called terrorist promoting community, excuse my saying that.

Then the very same community when feels at home, will itself to speak to such so called miscreants to change or bring to light who are the so called terrorists, their hideouts etc. But the same is all dependent upon ONE big fact, which I was refreshed when read in at Gwalior Railway station, which most of us must have read numerous times "FROM KASHMIR TO KANYA KUMARI INDIA IS ONE"

So please joing together to stand as one, and curb the attack on Christians, NOW.....

regards,

Dear Stevens

Appreciate your sentiments and feeling all of should stand together and unite as single community irrespective of caste or religion.Notional interest should be thought of first then should come other things. We should condem together any attacks on any relgion or there places and should equally condem any forcible conversion or for that matter conversion by immoral practices.
I basically belong to kashmir and have seen worst of both terrorism and communalism, these are 2 dieases which are killing our nation ,if not taken care at the earliest will take drown all of us.

An article from times of india of 16th september...this really is a
sad article to read that its not only the bomb blast that ruiend there
life..but the false promises of the Govt has betrayed the innocent
citizens and infact it is something like trying to hurt a person who
already is suffering deep hurt..i agree with the above statements that
we should all stand as ONE...Irrespective of caste, religion or
state...and any one trying to divide us should not be able to do
so...as we all are INDIAN's before being hindu, muslim, sikh, christian
etc....

29/10 victims still await help

Risha Chitlangia | TNN

New Delhi: As the city tries to cope with the shock of Saturday’s
serial strike, the blast images have been all the more painful for
victims of the 29/10 terror blasts of 2005. Not only have they been
reliving the horror of those blasts three years ago, but the
subsequent tale of government insensitivity to their pain has also
come rushing back.
Ministers announce grand relief packages in front of whirring
cameras, but what happens later is quite another story. Take the case
of Kuldeep Singh, the hero of the pre-Diwali terror strikes who risked
his life to save 60-odd people on the DTC bus he was driving. Singh,
who was partially blinded and deafened by the explosion, is still
waiting to receive the Rs 3 lakh announced by Union home minister
Shivraj Patil as reward for his bravery. ‘‘I have lost all hope. If I
haven’t got the money in three years, will I ever get it?’’ asks
Kuldeep. There’s more. In the last three years, Kuldeep says he has
spent nearly Rs 2 lakh on his treatment of which only Rs 63,000 have
been reimbursed by the Delhi government. The government, incidentally,
had promised to bear all expenses for his treatment when his case came
to light three years ago.
If that’s how a hero is treated, what can the others expect?
Says Vinod Poddar, another victim who lost his right leg in the
Sarojini Nagar blast, ‘‘Whatever little I got as compensation, I had
to spend on my surgery and prosthesis. And, I got this money nearly
two years later after running from one hospital to another to get my
files cleared. My earning is limited and I spend a good portion of my
salary on commuting in autos, as I can’t drive anymore.’’

Times View

Can the state stop at merely handing out monetary compensation to
terror victims? Is that enough for them to pick up the pieces of their
shattered lives? Look at the plight of Kuldeep Singh or Vinod Poddar,
people who were maimed by the 2005 pre-Diwali blasts in Delhi. Their
ability to earn has been badly hit by their disability. What they need
is not just one-time compensation, but proper rehabilitation. Indeed,
there should be a rehab programme for those maimed by terror. This is
the least the government can do if it can’t stop terror attacks.

Don’t forget us: Diwali blast victims

New Delhi: Reliving the horror of 2005 Diwali blasts and the
subsequent tale of government insensitivity to his pains, Vinod
Poddar, who lost his right leg , said: ‘‘A compensation of Rs 1 lakh
doesn’t come anywhere near what I need. Those who survive need more
assistance as we have to live with the disability forever.’’ He had
tears in his eyes when he saw pictures of victims being taken to
hospitals on Saturday. Poddar’s daughter Diksha, who is in Class IX,
was also seriously injured and has to undergo more surgery.
Kuldeep agrees that survivors need much more help than they get.
‘‘I’m undergoing eye treatment in Hyderabad and in the last one year I
have been there some 11 times. Each time I go there, I stay for 10-15
days and also have to take somebody along. The Delhi government has
said that they will reimburse all the money, but so far I have got
just Rs 63,000,’’ he says and adds that inquiries by his seniors about
his compensation have so far met with a standard reply, ‘‘things are
in process’’.
M V Yogita, 22, who survived the Sarojini Nagar blast, hates to
recall what she has gone through in the last three years. She says
that she has decided to move on in life and she has no expectations
from anybody, least of all the government. ‘‘I can’t see clearly as my
eyes were damaged, my hearing ability got affected due to the bang and
my leg was so badly damaged that after three surgeries also it could
not be fixed properly,’’ she says.
‘‘For nearly two years, I was bedridden. All I got was Rs 50,000 as
compensation,’’ Yogita says. She connected instantly with the victims
of Saturday’s blast. ‘‘I have gone through the pain so I know how the
victims and their families would be going through,’’ says Yogita, who
has just told her family how two-three people were dumped over her
while she was being taken to hospital. ‘‘It still gives me goose
pimples.’’
These victims say the government should make special provisions for
people who suffer serious injuries. ‘‘People who get disabled need
assistance. At least some job opportunities should be made
available,’’ says Yogita. Many 29/10 victims say they are yet to fully
come to terms with the tragedy. ‘‘I still feel scared even sitting at
home. I couldn’t sleep for days after returning from Safdarjung
hospital. Blast victims need counselling,’’ says George Mathew, a
businessman. Saturday’s blasts also have their Kuldeeps, Yogitas,
Georges and Poddars. The question is, will they fare any better?

this is one of the most common realities of our Hospital's...neither
are the Govt hospital's geared up to cater to patients in case of
eventuality..and even after 3 days have passed..still the hospitals
are waiting for the Vital drug that needs to be injected in bomb blast
patients within 48 hours...who will be responsible for the death's of
people who die due to gangrene and infection??Is it the Govt or the
terrorists??

Still searching for vital drug

This is the story of two brothers — Anuj (24) and Ankur (26) — who had
come to Delhi to visit their nani over the weekend. The Panchkula
residents had stepped out to buy mobile phones at Gaffar Market. Fate,
of course, had other plans. Caught in Saturday’s horrific blasts, both
brothers are now admitted at the city’s Jassa Ram Hospital. Their
father Ashok Kataria has been running from pillar to post trying to
arrange for a vital drug for both his sons. But the antigas gangrene
serum is out of stock everywhere. ‘‘It’s been more than 48 hours since
the blasts but this serum is not available in any pharmacy or
hospital,’’ says Kataria.
Explains Dr S K Sharma, CMO at RML hospital, ‘‘This serum is
injected into patients to prevent the spread of a specific bacteria in
crush and blast injuries.’’ Kataria is distraught: ‘‘I’ve been
everywhere but ‘out of stock’ is the only answer I get,’’ he says.
Ankur is in the ICU with a crushed right thigh, multiple fractures
and a large piece of iron stuck in his back. Anuj has fractures in
both legs but is in the general ward. Both require the anti-gangrene
serum, informs the physician treating them. Doctors at Jassa Ram
hospital admit that there is an acute shortage of anti-gangrene serum
in Delhi. ‘‘The serum is presently not available in the city. The
matter is with the Ministry of Health and the Directorate of Health
Services Department (DHSD) is trying to arrange the it from Pune for
our most critical patients,’’ said a doctor on conditions of
anonymity. TNN
