What about a Mandir or a Gurudwara in Dwarka?

Probably that would remain a dream for the people of Dwarka. MCD is even destroying existing Mandir's so how can we expect a new mandir

they (mandir or gurudwara or shrines) are not the most important needs in fact the excess of such places has indeed made us a communally sensitive individuals. we must be dutiful in our whatsoever professions, pay attention to our family's cultured upbringing, be concerned of our neighbor and our society's well being, rather than focusing on places of worship (+ their subsequent encroached growth).
Every home has a place to worship and that is enough.

if at all another is required, outside of home then i believe just one temple, one gurudwara, one church etc in Dwarka is enough because there is no end once we start becoming relegious then slowly we also become communal.

these are just my personal views; but i feel that society should behave likewise, in order to grow healthy.

dear sunil,
your wish will be certainly answered. there are of course a number of malls etc. under construction at different areas in dwarka and we cannot stop that.  we are  on the brink of a commercially growing economy and construction is in full swing all over the NCR region making malls of all types- whether they do the expected business or not, is any body's guess.
besides, these obvious symbols of a town's growth, i also have following needs:
1. what about some civic sense to throw garbage only in dust bins? apart from dwarka, we are also resident of Delhi first, except for dwarka, i do not see dustbins placed along roadsides in Delhi frequently. Sometimes, i eat something in car while going to office, and keep the rubbish in the car waiting for some dust bin. finally i have to bring it back to my colony (sec 9  DDA) in the evening to throw the same in our dustbin!
2. what about some driving sense and enforced discipline with frequent challans and prosecutions for all the rash and senseless drivers in Dwarka. Only today morning there was a bad accident at sec.10 crossing.  in fact everyday some accident does take place due to bad driving and sheer disregard for law by the resident of dwarka, palam villages and nearby areas.
3. what about throwing out all these dirty patriwallas, pavement hawkers who have spoiled the whole look of sec.6 and sec 10 markets? it is virtually impossible to pass through the corridors without accidentally tripping someone's chat papri's plate in front of numerous sweet shops opened here.NO wonder, we are a nation of diabetics with a sweet shop after every 10 steps.
4. Dwarka is our own subcity Yes, but Why are we making it dirty by putting up unnecessary and unauthorised signages? and boards like, GOLOK DHAM (who has given this permission for this board?, this is not an institute to be advertised so prominently and awkwardly at red lights, we might as well then allow everyone to put up a board of his liking- are there any rules for keeping a city clean or not? for many weeks the posters of some local politician was stuck up onthe newly erected entrance board at dwarka flyover which says " welcome to Dwarka" - how ugly this board was looking with these posters and now they are removed the scratches are visible.
then there are numerous prep schools that have put up their boards at various places randomly, someone must uproot and throw all this rubbish into the large dustbins placed perhaps for these nuisances.

WIth this forum , i am also addressing and appealing to the planners, administrators, DDA officers, MCD officers and who so ever thinks they have a role to play in efficient town & city planning, I also appeal to all the readers and residents of Dwarka to voice their opinions loudly and make the higher ups listen to our grievances- it is clear that Executives up there are not doing their duty with 100% dedication.

Mr Pradeep,

I dont think excess of these places (of worship) will make anyone communally sensitive. When someone goes to such places, spends sometime there, it gives him a lot of peace of mind. When you talk about the cultural upbringing of children, these places are the major role players.

I personally know a lot of people who wouldn't eat anything without going to temple in the morning...and trust me, they are 100% communally harmless.

Just take an example of Jain community in Dwarka. They had to take a lot of trouble to celebrate their yearly (10 days) festival, due to lack of a temple in Dwarka.

Even I am opposing the encroaching that these places do. They should raise money or take help from state govt., but should never encroach.

These were my thoughts, and maybe I think differently from all of you, but just wanted to put them together for the open forum.

Regards,

Vikas

you are right vikas. involving oneself in spirituality does give you peace of mind however as one philospher had put it,
"religion and spirituality are two different paths, the former is an organisation and like all organisation run by humans, it is subject to hierarchy, rules, red tapism, autocracy and bound by limits of human nature whereas spirituality is above everything- what i actually meant was just One place of worship each be it a big temple/ church/ gurudwara.

Of course, it is a very personal matter and personally my worship & relegion starts and terminates in a small alter i have in home. of course, to a community such as Jains, Sikhs, Hindus, Christians it is a matter of inconvenience if they have to travel great distance for their worship.

Ironically, in spite of so many Gods and Places of worship in India, we have not yet acknowledged GOD's presence everywhere. If as a community, we seek a place for convenience of our gathering then to us, isn't it more like a Club!?
Excuse me Vikas, i am just airing my views, you need not to respond to it if you totally disagree with me.
But it is good to have a forum for us Dwarka residents.

Pradeep,

You have a very nice way of putting your thoughts in emails, but somehow I find many of them debatable. Not that I want to change your thinking, but at least I would find out if the society has moved forward and I am left behind.

I know I am sounding a bit selfish as I would like to have a temple near to where I live (to avoid inconvenience of travelling long distance), but at the same time I wouldn't like if my family members couldn't go to temple just because I have to be in office early and don't have time to drive them to Temple.

Going to temple is not about trying to see God one day or trying to acknowledge its presence, but it gives you a self satisfaction if you spend time there. Whoever goes to temple frequently would know what I am talking about.

If you think religious gatherings are for fun and is like a CLUB, Please visit IDC Cooperative Group Housing Society Ltd

within the next few days and find it out yourself. Jain community is celebrating their annual das lakshan parv in an apartment (due to lack of mandir in Dwarka).

Kindly forgive me if I have hurt your feelings in any way. This is for all other readers of this forum as well. Hope they come up and share their thoughts.

I have seen that many societies/DDA pockets have made small Mandirs inside thier societies/pockets for worship. It is my idea that we may find out a very small suitable place inside the  societies/pockets for making a small mandir with the consent of society members.

Dear Anil Nayal,
Temple in every society is not apractucal solution. The structure of our society is very comples. You need different type of temples and gurdwara etc in order to satisfy all members. I hope you understand it. Secondly the temple within the society can feed the need of one society only while as the society is spread in the entire subcity.
To feed the entire society there  must be a central Mandir. I don't think that there is any problem in having one in the Dwarka sub city.

Why dont our RWA/Fourm suggest ONE COMPLEX  all MANDIR/MASJID/GURUDWARA/ETC.... like in Army Cantonments . Lets Dwarkites make a new begining in this matter. WDYT?
The ideal location would be centre of Dwarka.. as we all know all along Metro track there is enough space at the moment.

Puneet,
Please call up new Delhi Traffic Police office in Sect 9 Dwarka.
ZO number is 9811263444 (Mr. Manoj Yadav)
All those who see NOT WORKING Traffic light please inform on the above number
or call up 23378888
or send SMS to  9811452220

If a written complaint is given to them would be ideal.

Thanks,
Rejimon
