A few days ago while passing Mathur Road it was observed that a trolley was watering plants at Central verge. As the central verge was full with earth up to top there was no space and the most quantity was spilling to road.
In this way the desired objective is not achieved and following loss is incurred:
1. Water goes waste,
2. The trolley man wages go waste,
3. Such trolley causes slow movement of traffic there by increasing pollution,
It takes little time for soil to absorb water, so the level of earth in central verge should be at least 3 inches below the top level for allowing water to stay for some time. The high level of soil will also not allow rain water to stay. Such activities are just short of a foolish deed in full public view. The point is wat concerned engineering department officials are doing?
In view of the above, it is suggested that the PWD must immediately carry out inspection of all roads within its purview and do the needful before start of rains.
