Dear All,

Please help me to know how I can get the birth certificate for myself.
My age is 40 years and I was born in Delhi only (I believe my birth
was registered too, by Hospital that time).

As per the link available at MCD website, it claims that Birth
Certificate can be obtained through Internet as well (Please refer
http://www.mcdonline.gov.in/healthdetail.php?id=35), however I didn't
get any place from where I can login and raise request for Birth
Certificate. If anyone is aware of the process, please help.

Alternatively, if any-one knows the MCD office Address in Dwarka area
which can be approached for this, please share the address and contact
details.

This is an URGENT requirement for me.

Appreciating your help in advance.

Thanks & Regards,
Vinay Jain

You will have to get the certificate from the hospital records
and then apply to the SDM court to issue the orders to MCD
for issuing the Birth Certificate.
This is the process if one has not applied for the DOB certificate
with in the SIX months of birth.

Dear Mr. Vinay :  Birth certificate is also issued by the same authority as caste certificates, i.e. the Office of SDM.  You may try to find out the exact location of the SDM's office pertaining to your area and then seek their help. I hope, they shall certainly help you to get a duplicate copy of the birth certificate. Since I live in Paschim Vihar, I am aware that such certificates pertaining to our area are issued by SDM, Punjabi Bagh, but his office is located at Nangloi, on Main Rohtak Road.

By the way, since are 40, the date of birth of each individual is also recorded on his or her Matriculation certificate. Alternatively, you may use your school certificate as birth certificate also, as you dob might also be written over there.

There is an MCD Zonal office near Dwarka Mor (about 500 meters from the Mor towards Najafgarh, opposite Punjab National Bank). This is where property tax is collected. On one side is a room which deals with birth and death certificates. If you persist with a bit of patience someone there will give the required informaion  even if your case does not fall in their jurisdiction.
Best of luck.

Dear Bhardwaj Saheb
There is a small but subtle technical difference. Matriculation and School certificates are admitted as proof of age and date of birth for most purposes. But for certain cases a Birth Certificate itself is required. One such case is if a person is applying to become a citizen of USA. A friend who is 50 is struggling to get one from Kashmir where he was born but which he left when he was 15.

Dear All,

Thank you all for your valuable inputs. As Mr. Bhagat rightly pointed
out, while Date of Birth is mentioned on Matriculation certificate and
many other documents which are well accepted in most of the cases in
India, however the same is not valid for out-side India. This is true
for getting Work VISA for most of the European Countries.

Also, I have already gone through this process and for the knowledge
sharing purpose the process is as follows:
1. Go the MCD (Municipal Corporation office) office of the area where
you were born.
2. If you were born in Hospital, you just need to fill a small form
and submit it at Counter.
3. They will register your request, provide a tracking number and will
suggest you to come after 15 WORKING DAYS (However the chances are
feeble that you will get it in 15 working days’ time. This input is
based on the experience from people visiting the place).
4. MCD will send the request to Central Records Room (where archived
records are kept) for verification of record and issue the Birth
Certificate after 15 working days.
5. In case of 1998 onwards birth cases, they may have the computerized
record (provided the birth was in Hospital) and can issue the Birth
Certificate immediately.
6. In case the birth was not in Hospital, you may need to submit an
Affidavit.

Hope, this information would be useful.

Thanks & Regards,
Vinay

Thank you Mr. Vinay.
How do I get my kid's name updated in brith certificate. He was born in
Aug 2008 in a hospital in New Frieds Colony. 15 days later hospital
handed over the birth certificate with name new born.

Do you have the address and location of MCD office that cater new
friends colony area. I need this to be updated as school admission will
start and school will not accept the birth certificate with name new born.

Dear Ranjeet,

While I don't have exact answer to your query, following URL's may be
useful.

http://delhi.gov.in/DoIT/DES/Registration/directory.pdf This document
provides the complete address and contact details of all Zonal Offices
(Dy. Health Officer). You need to identify which-one would be relevant
for your area. May be you can call them to verify before going there.

Also, while school should accept the Birth Certificate without name
(my guess, but not sure), in case you still want to go for addition of
name in Birth Certificate, you need to follow the process given in
this URL - http://111.93.47.72/rbd/detail.php?&var=R2UMSLYwhx127wyGKtWpTQ==.
The process given on this page seems to be correct and updated.

Pleased note, at places MCD site claims that Birth Certicates issuence
etc. can be done online as well. I didn't find any place at their
website where one can apply for that. However, in case they ask you to
come later for collection of new/corrected Birth Certificate, the
status can be tracked at http://111.93.47.72/rbd/applicationstatus.php

Kind Regards,
Vinay
