Ref: Roads under Dwarka flyover project.
I wish to draw your kind attention towards a few issues concerning roads under your jurisdiction which probably are escaping your attention:
(1) Pot hole has emerged at some length before entering the under pass from sector 22 side and another one at left side immediately after climbing the height (timely repair is the essence of issue),
(2) Road at left half turn at Sambhalkha T Point is not even requires repair (long pending),
(3) The speed breakers at Dwarka overbridge require painting,
(4) The sign board on flyoer, indicating Dwarka & Palam (for installation of which I had to go in appeal under RTI) are not serving effectively because of unsuitable colour combination leadig to very poor visibility.
(5) The service road adjacent to Dwarka – Delhu Bhurthal road requires commissioning urgently (long pending).
I understand & expect that repair of numerous pot holes on Dwarka flyover is underprocess and shall be complete soon.
I request you to address above appropriately. Moreover, as these are routine activities and we expect DDA to show enthusiasm and take care about these things at its own.
Thanks.
Yours faithfully,
(S K Goyal)

While DDA engineers claim safety measures were taken to reduce accidents and traffic snarls, daily commuters point out faulty planning.
"For a projected population of 10 lakh, the flyover seems narrow and ill-equipped to deal with such high traffic. When the DDA was spending so much money on the project, it should have planned a six-lane flyover, instead of the existing four-lane," said Vinay Menon, a sector 14 resident.
"Many charted buses continue to stop on the flyover. Slow-moving vehicles like carts are not allowed on the flyover, but they still ply with impunity, slowing down the traffic," Menon added.
Clogged, congested, chaotic
Metro's Dwarka corridor promised to solve traffic problem on Najafgarh Road. Though a large number of motorists left their vehicles home and hopped on to the Metro, this traffic intersection continues to be one of the most busy and congested.
Karkarola Mod serves as the gate to Dwarka sub-city. Traffic to and from Najafgarh, Kakrola group of colonies and Dwarka converge here.
The presence of Dwarka Mod Metro station just 50 meters form the T-point adds to the traffic. Although the traffic police have recently installed a traffic signal on this intersection and the public works department has constructed a slip road, traffic snarls just refuse to ease. The presence of makeshift shops and illegally parked commercial vehicles add to the problem.
"I have been using this road for the past 10 years but the kind of traffic that I have seen in past six months is unprecedented," said RP Malik, a resident of Najafgarh.

It is extremely unfortunate that while repairing pot holes on Dwarka flyover all the pot holes are not repaired and some of them have been left unattended. Now the same shall grow speedily in the coming rainy season and cause undue inconvenience to commuters. Moreover the potholes which are repaired now were done so on last day after carpeting while these should have been done on first day.
(2) Like wise there pot holes at least 3 places on Dwarka approach road vis under pass (sec-22) big enough to cause inconveinece and growing day by day.
(3) You get bump while entering the new under pass at Palam round about because the surface level pipes over drain are not aligned. How such things happen with new construction is a thing of utter surprise.
(4) Whie heading towards Palam round-about the dense carpeting has been left in between for past long time and you suddenly find a 2 inch high raised platform on road to strike with your vehicle. This in my view is only a case of absolute carelessness of site supervisor.
It is beyond understanding why small potholes are not repaired, these are only left to tease public and grow so that big tenders can be issue later for repair. I understamd there might be some administrative problems at your end but the saying ‘a stitch in time save nine’ fits appropriately when it comes to repair of potholes.
DDA has deputed qualified engineers for the work but these acts gives an impression that neither there are any professional standards to follow nor any seriousness in dealing with issues touching lives of lakhs of people on daily basis.
DDA officials must also be living in some part of Delhi and being co-citizens they should be able to feel the pinch.
I request DDA officers to show some zeal & enthusiasm and come forward to contribute making Dwarka a city of example for rest of Delhi to follow.
Thanks.
