Govt. is in the process of making all the roads as commercials but not concerned about the Residents.
What about Master Plan.???. Where is PARKING space on these roads.

NEW DELHI: After one and a half years of delay, the Municipal Corporation of Delhi will start sanctioning building plans for residential, mixed land use and commercial areas on 2500-odd notified streets by issuing two separate notifications. This will provide relief to lakhs of people as there has been lack of clarity on issuing building plans on these stretches.
Also, the civic agency has come out with a list of 44 more roads which it will send to Delhi government for notification. No sealing will take place on such stretches. The list includes internal roads of Lado Sarai, Hari Nagar, Arjun Nagar, Rajouri Garden, Om Vihar, West Avenue Road in West Punjabi Bagh, roads in Laxmi Nagar etc. According to standing committee chairman Vijender Gupta, a survey to identify more such stretches is on.
On streets allowing mixed land use, people can get building plans sanctioned for commercial use on ground floor after paying conversion charges and can get building plans passed for residential purposes on the first and second floors. Moreover, basements can be used for retail purposes on both mixed land use and commercial streets after payment of conversion charges for additional FAR. On non-notified stretches, basements can only be used for professional activites by lawyers, doctors, chartered accountants etc.
On commercial roads, a person will have to get plans sanctioned for commercial purposes. A residential plot on the commercial stretch can be put to commercial use by simply paying conversion charges.
Said Gupta: "There are at least 30% people who are still residing in properties on mixed land use stretches and were unable to get their building plans sanctioned due to lack of clarity provided by DDA on this issue. But they can do so now.''
He added: "We will also be passing a resolution in the standing committee on Wednesday for notification of 44 additional pedestrian shopping streets, commercial streets and mixed use streets under mixed use regulations.'' Gupta said a list of 307 roads was still pending with Delhi government for the last one year. Also, commercial activity is permitted in industrial, institutional areas after payment of conversion charges. So banquet halls can now function from industrial areas.

This seems another vote politics keeping in view of upcoming election.

Is our Municipal Corporation is for all Delhiites or only for
"Traders"? They are not concerned about their basic job - proper
sanitation. Their only motto is to make Delhi more conjusted and
unfit for peaceful living.
Since the jurisdiction of Delhi Government covers the entire Delhi and
Delhi being totally urban, the authorities should think about
dissolving the institution of Municipal Corporation and the entire
work shoul be handled by the Delhi Government. This will also help in
reducing the multiplicity of authorities who are working on cross
purposes.

In the context of Dwarka, the residents of DDA pockets can expect some decline in commercial activity as Shopkeepers, Doctors, Cable tv walas, beauty parlours will have to shell out extra money?
