Computerised driving test track at new Dwarka RTO

The transport department will come up with an ultra-modern Regional Transport Office at Dwarka. In a first, the RTO will computerise the driving tests to minimise human interface. It will be equipped with a automatic control room which will monitor the driving abilities of the applicant, senior officials said.

The pilot project of conducting computerised driving licence test is successful and will be extended to other upcoming RTOs in Delhi. “The RTO will be fully airconditioned and will be equipped with facilities such as help desks and separate queues for women and senior citizens.

Once constructed, the city will have 14 RTOs in total. The design methodology has been developed keeping in mind the maximum use of daylight and natural ventilation, so the building’s electricity consumption is optimised. The project to build such RTOs has been initiated on a pilot basis and can be replicated to other parts of the city, if successful,” a senior Delhi Government official said.The upcoming RTO will come up at a walking distance from Dwarka Sector 10 Metro station.

Sir,

 

Dwarka, the largest Sub-city in Asia is meant to accommodate a population of more than 10 lacs and presently, over 6 lacs people are residing in Dwarka in addition to neighbouring villages and areas nearby.

 

Dwarka has been grappling with myriad of problems due to lack of infrastructure, one out of that related to Zonal Transport Office (RTO).    Dwarka is being currently served by the Transport Office situated at Janakpuri .  The land earmarked in Dwarka in Sector-10 for Transport Authority office is lying unused since long.    No activities have been started in the land for the development of the office. 

 

We, therefore, request you to kindly direct the concerned department(s) to initiate development of a transport authority office in Dwarka for RTO, land for the same is already available as per plan..
