Nursery Admissions 2014

These are very testing moments for the parents of children who are vying for admission in Nursery. 

LG had formulated guidelines for Nursery Admissions and 70 Points are being given to child residing within 8 Kms of the school. 20 Points for Siblings, 5 points for alumni, 5 Points for Transfer Cases. 5% Quota is reserved for Girl Child and 5% seats are reserved for Children or Grandchildren of staff.

These guidelines have made "70 Pointers" the worst affected as in most of the schools the seats are being mainly gobbled up by fake Transfer cases. So many parents are showing transfers from Noida/Gurgaon/Faridabad/Bahadurgarh to get 5 points for interstate transfers. In most of the schools kids with 70 points were not even included in the "Draw of Lots". For Eg. in DPS Dwarka out of 172 candidates shortlisted for Document Verification 116 were transfer cases. Isn't it fishy?

In last week of Jan 2014 I had complained against a prominent school in Dwarka, Sector 7 to the DoE Office, Najafgarh and DoE helpline about overcharging for registration forms and prompt action was taken. But, now as Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia are not in chair the responsive helpline started by them is almost non functional. As a result quite a few schools have started flouting rules and are back to their Corrupt Practices. I heard and read that a very famous school of Dwarka (One of the Top Ten Schools in HT School Survey for West Delhi) is asking for Capitation Fee from desperate parents. 

Today as a hassled parent I feel that AK should have got majority in the Dec 2013 elections than there was a chance that these corrupt  practices by school managements would have decreased gradually.

I urge Fellow members to please read the comments by parents in the www.admissionnursery.com forum where name of this Dwarka based school and capitation fee being demanded is clearly mentioned.

The next step should be to raise it upto the LG.  As he is now incharge of Delhi and instructed that the helpline actioned by AK's Govt will continue and action will be taken.  So, would advise all parents to write to LG. We all hope the action will be taken.  Lets see.

I also apprehend that now schools may adopt old tactics to loot the parents. This should be rein in.

All in vain Sir...

Results of most of the schools of Dwarka are already out and 70 pointers are nowhere.

Quite a few parents held a Protest "Dharna" at Jantar Mantar where Shri Ashok Agarwal was also invited. But, nothing much came out of it. As media isn't highlighting the plight of distressed parents.

As a last resort few parents have filled - one Writ Petition and one PIL in Delhi High Court. PIL against Transfer Points has been filed and is up for hearing tomorrow (25/2/2014) at 10 AM.

Still i'm feeling quite dejected due to mess up by the LG office and Department of Education. UPA government is advertising about Right to Education and here we aren't able to secure a seat in nursery for our children instead of having so many schools in Dwarka.

Shame :(

They will have better life exposure.

Participate & supervise in School activities for improvement.

Better  qualified teachers.

Better play ground.

No commercial exploitation.

Good to knw seats available in some schools.
Another good news that market shacks getting cleared in over congested dabri area with just a few cops at hand.
This is possible, as per our driver since president rule is on. He said he witnessed administration tried to clear the area earlier but politicians(across lines) interfered.
We in DF are looking forward for better connectivity and thank all who are lending a hand in this.
