Dear all

I am a resident of a  CGHS Society with around 20-30 flats out of 125 have done illegal unapproved extensions. No consensus about getting approved construction and as usual a circus and silence.

With frequent earthquakes in last few months, I am sure its impacting whole structure and victim will be even those who haven't done any illegal extensions. Such illegal extended balconies without pillars adds too much extra weight on already now old buildings and must be causing damage with each passing day and more when a quake comes..This is for everyone safety i feel to take this issue seriously but somehow we wait till disaster as usual.

So its become more and more risky and I personally feel to raise request about it to get this fixed (i myself prefer approved construction but its not happening due to no consensus since last 6+ months).

Can someone please guide me whom one should approach, my thoughts are as below

a) Write mail to residents to discuss and solve.
>> Already did and as usual nobody want to discuss such issues as it causes heated discussion and situation remains as precarious as always.

b) Write mail to Chief Engineer of DDA manglapur Sh. D P Singh on their email ID available in public domain.

c) RTI to DDA. This is already filed by society management but as expected DDA doesn't works.
>> Can this be done online. To me it appears yes.

d) RTI to RCS, Delhi.
>> Can this be done online. To me it appears yes.

e) RTI to Ministry of Urban affairs on what action taken on RTI to DDA if c) doesn't responds.

f) If still nothing happens, last resort appears to be an online request to PMO portal to get this solved. My friend got his electricity connection in 2 months in Muzzafarnagar when he raised point on PMO portal. So I am sure it works most times..

Did i missed anything which should be done to make things work or which should be done??..

Thanks in advance.
Krishna

None of these agencies going to solve. Yes they may MILK some CASH.
Solution in this only within 4 walls try to convince majority and go for proper structural safety and uniformity.
Each person who are already agreed should go to other person and try to convince using own rapp

Sir,
Another option is write to Director ( Housing ) Residential, DDA with details of all such flats preferably enclose few photographs of illegal construction.
Or
Discuss the issue with your MC and apply for increase of FAR  for all the flats of your Society as per revised Building Bye Laws after completing all the required formalities.

Majority wants approved extensions but say few dozen dont want to pay saying they dont need it and nobody can force them to pay as its not regular maintenance.

Now nobody discusses it as no solution in sight and thus illegal extensions are damaging overall safety every passing day.

I too want approved and pillar based safe extension for everybody but delaying till some mishap is what happening currently.

Thanks.

In a cooperative society, decisions are taken on the basis of majority. In all CGHS wherever extension has done, the decision was not unanimous, yet extension has been carried out as admissible under FAR.
