Sir,

Concerned Department: Centre for Scientific & Industrial Research.

Reg: Development of Efficient Water Dispensation Mechanism.

With growing pollution in Delhi, the leaves of trees and shrubs have become a place for the settlement of dust and this ultimately has, whenever wind blows, become a source of dust to further the adverse impact of growing pollution. As a result, cleaning trees have been adopted as one of the action points covered under the graded response mechanism to tackle pollution.

The fire tenders have been occasionally witnessed discharging this duty of cleaning trees. However, the point noted is that the system of water dispensation used by fire tenders is not fit for this purpose and is highly inefficient in terms of water consumption when it comes to cleaning of trees or shrubs with high-pressure water which is meant for extinguishing fire. It consumes a lot of water and is definitely not be a tenable solution in the long term as this practice is a burden on scarce water resources and in fact criminal.

Now with growing pollution cleaning of trees is likely to become a regular activity, otherwise, also clean trees give a much better look as compared to dust-laden leaves.

Therefore, in view of the above, it is suggested that research may be undertaken to design a better water dispensing system to efficiently clean the trees with minimum water.

Please acknowledge.
