A team of NHAI and private consultants AECOM on Friday conducted an inspection of the proposed 9.9 km of the Delhi side of the expressway, which will connect both Shivmurti and Kherki Daula on the Delhi-Gurgaon expressway.

On the Delhi side, the Dwarka expressway would be 9.9 km long from Shiv Murti to Haryana border near Bijwasan and from this point to Kherki Daula the rest of the road 18-km long.

Ashok Sharma, project director of the NHAI, said that for the 5.5 km section of the road, the land is with the PWD department of the Delhi government and it only needs to be transferred to the highway authority. “We need to acquire only 15-acres of land for the rest 4.4 km stretch from Shiv Murti to Bharthal village adjacent to Dwarka,” said Sharma.

A team of NHAI officials and private consultants conducted an inspection on the Delhi side and went from Shivmurti to Kapashera road along the airport to Dwarka and from there took a left to Bharthal and Bamnoli villages and finally crossed Bijwasan to enter Gurgaon where they visited sectors along the expressway close to the border.

“We are planning a six-lane stretch in Delhi similar to what has been built in Gurgaon as we have 80 metres of width available for a considerable distance,” said Sharma. As far as stretches that have been stuck on Gurgaon side at New Palam Vihar and Kherki Daula is concerned, Huda has been asked to expedite the rehabilitation of oustees on priority.

To expedite the acquisition of land, the NHAI has written to the Delhi government to set a competent authority for land acquisition that will initiate the legal process for acquiring the land for the project.

Once the estimate for the land is made, the highways authority will issue a notification under Section 3(a) of the National Highway Act 1956 to verify the exact requirement of plots and their revenue numbers. Another notification under Section 3(A) would be made by the authority. Twenty one days after this is done, a final notification under Section 3(D) of the Act would be issued that will finally vest the land with the NHAI.

“If all stakeholders, including the Delhi government, cooperate then the process should not take more than six months. In this time we will also prepare a detailed estimate and design of the expressway so work can start at the earliest,” said Sharma.

Dear Sirs,
I had complained , for massive ditches , at the left side upper road of this underpass at sect-21 , in March. Thanks to PWD for taking up the issue.

But, It has observed that some premix carpeting work has been started at the Underpass sect-21.also.
Which I think is total waist of public money as , this area is water borne and the when ever, water logging will be there in rains , it will damage the bituminous carpet. Hence there should be cement concrete floor only.
Thanks,
