Dear All,
Here is the proposal from IGI airport vicinit RWA to put suggestion on reducing noise from Airpport landing/take off,
My comments are below as,  I dont agree with other RWA, as a balance approach needed
We have been observing main problem for Dwarka are :
1. Use of Runway No 29/10 for Take off towards Dwarka /sector 22/23/24/25/26 creates Noise at NITE. THIS MUST END.
2. The use of Runway No. 28/10 take off towards Dwarka 7/8/9/10/22/23/19/18 are affected.

We finding Landing from Dwarka SIDE on these direction is not that much of noise so far.
Please note Dwarka is SEVERLY hit as it doesn't have any GREEN Cover unlike Vasant Vihar/Vasant Kunj/RK Puram etc. Most importantly sector 7/8/22/23 are hardly a KM distance

I found it MAJOR shift of LOAD towards Dwarka (runways 10/9 sides) on the proposed table.
A complete ban of nite may not feasible untill unless major change in Rules/Acts but equal distribution is may be the middle path.
We invite all Dwarkites/RWA/CGHS office bearers to study this table and comment.
Please DONT comment BLINDLY and unrelevant matters.

Rejimon,
Attached is a proposed runway use schedule which we are trying to get implemented through the courts. Essentially it requires all night flights to be restricted to one runway 28/10 instead of being spread randomly over all 3 runways which creates noise in all the colonies. Would appreciate it if you can review this and confirm if you are willing to sign the document along with the other RWAs so we can submit a joint action plan.
If you have any questions regarding the same please call me on my direct line 28062124.

Dear all

My comments are as follows:

An aircraft like Boeing 747 and above needs maximum length of the runway to take off. Also, at the time of take off the engines are at maximum power. They definitely are producing noise at ground level, which may be beyond standards of WHO. This leads to heart problems, loss of memory, loss of performance level by students and any other effects which can be listed by experts.

I very much doubt that the airport planners have not measured noise levels of these aircraft as received on ground before designing the runway lengths and orientations.

for landing aircraft, though the engines are at low power, they are comparatively flying very low over Dwarks sector 22, 8 etc. Sometime we feel scared that the big aircraft may come very close to the roof tops in sector 8 block B and C.

Noise levels come to the same point for landings.

It appears that there was no human consideration at the time of planning.

this is for information to all.

Progress should not cost humans for whom the progress is meant.

Yes Reji.. i am in complete agreement with your view. Landing from dwarka side only reduce the noise issue.

The real problem is that there is no regulatory mechanism in place. This is mainly because of absence of law in this regard. This was discussed by us with DIAL authority in a meeting organised. It was expliained by us in the meeting. Now we have to first forward these issue to ministry of civil aviation and DGCA.

Let us prepare a presentation.

The newer the Aircraft the lesser the noise pollution as these are made new standards.
What is required is OLDER aircraft to be removed.
The Dwarka is unprotected unlike other air funnel areas of VV, VK etc.
More greening is required in Dwarka
For within Airport boundary more noise absorving barriers need to install.
Unfortunatley as rightly said by sushil the Govt , CPCB  have lack of any policy on Airport noise pollution and not working on this. We have been reminding them of this time and again.
