LATE PAYMENT OF FEE - FINE SHOULD NOT EXCEED 5 PAISE PER DAY.

LAW DON’T ALLOW UNAIDED SCHOOLS TO CHARGE PARENTS MORE THAN 5 PAISE PER DAY AGAINST LATE PAYMENT OF FEE – DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION ORDERS AFTER HC DIRECTIONS

After the Delhi High Court directions of 11.02.2010 on a petition filed by Shri Rakesh Yadav, a parent of Ramjas School through Advocate Ashok Agarwal, the Director of Education has on 11.02.2013 ordered that all the unaided recognized private schools are bound to follow Rule 166 of Delhi School Education Rules, 1973 which prescribes a late fee fine of only 5 paise per day. The Director of Education has also directed Ramjas School to refund to Sh. Rakesh Yadav the excess amount of fine charged against late payment of fee from him.

Mr. Ashok Agarwal, Advocate for the parent had argued before the High Court that almost all pubic schools in Delhi were charging from the parents fine at rates ranging from Rs.10/- to Rs.200/- per day as late fee in utter violation of the provisions of DSEAR, 1973 which prescribed a late fee of only 5 paise per day under Rule 166.

Mr. Ashok Agarwal, Advocate who is also a National President of All India Parents Association (AIPA) while welcoming Director of Education Order has told the media that now all the unaided private schools that have charged excess late fee fine from the hapless parents in the past must refund the same to them immediately. The parents have also been appealed to make a demand for the refund of excess late fee fine from their respective schools.

if people like him are not around, how these SCHOOLS LOOT the Parents.
What MORAL RIGHT these school management have .. while we question politicians and others.. These type of schools..

I still think Publish should twice whehter to educate their kids in Pvt school or Govt Schools.

I think that we should send thank mail to Ashok ji directly expressing our gratitude to him to encourage him.  I have already sent such a mail. He is doing a great service in the field of education.  Many PIL etc. and I think all that without taking any fee.
