Based on the severity of air pollution level, several graded pain full steps are taken at a considerable social cost just for the sake of health of citizens like shutting down of school, discarding DG sets, sprinkling water on roads etc. However, it has been noticed that while pollution is at alarming level, there are some sections in the society indulging in undesirable activities leading to increase in pollution without any kind of worry. Surprisingly no one is bothering about such activities happening opening in broad day light. While people are falling sick, dying due to pollution such highly careless activities continue without any application of mind. In this back ground please inform: (i) in case there is heavy dust pollution because of the fact that a particular road is not cleaned for long period and dust has accumulated – is there any provision under which penalty can be levied on civic body. (ii) Please inform in detail what are the dust control norms to be followed by any civic body while carrying out digging activity? What all penalties can be levied for violation of norms. | |
