Dear fellow Dwarkaites,

Many of you may be knowing Yashwant Prakash ji, who was a known face
in Dwarka and a very active IAC activist. His 77 years old father was
recently kidnapped, kept hungry and then brutally murdered in Jaipur.
A former BJP councilor is alleged to be behind the murder. The details
about it may be read in these news articles:
http://www.dnasyndication.com/dna/article/DNJAI30165
http://m.timesofindia.com/PDATOI/articleshow/12397965.cms

This is to request all the support for him in whatever manner
possible. We do want our country to be a safe place and criminals
cannot be allowed to roam free - however high profile or influential!

Please note that media has most thoroughly ignored his fast and it has
not been covered by any mainstream media so far!

Indefinite Fast
-------------------------
Dear Friends
I have decided to go on fast to protest against the horrible
corruption that I am facing into investigation of murder of my 77 yr
old father Shree Anand Swaroop Sharma. He was kidnapped on 20th
January 2012 and his dead body was found with his throat deeply cut,
on 27th Jan 2012 in a partially built room on an empty plot in Pratap
Nagar locality of Jaipur about 20 km away from his residence.
Abduction was done to persuade him to sell his property which is on a
main city road that has turned commercial.
Police have arrested two people and blatantly presented a story that
is foolish and legally untenable to allow the arrested accused get out
of jail as soon as possible.
At the same time suspected main conspirator who was a councillor
earlier and now deals in property business has been let off by the
police overlooking the strong circumstantial evidences against him
that are on record and have been communicated to the police
repeatedly.
Post mortem report indicates that the old man was tortured for a few
days before being murdered. There are ante mortem injuries found on
his body and he was also found to be kept hungry for a long time
before given food just before killing him.
There are many other anomalies, blatant manipulation of evidences and
twisting of facts in the story given by the police
This is a usual way of helping criminals to make money. This is also
one of the unstated reason for convictions in the serious criminal
cases to be less than 20% in our country. This 20% also mainly
comprises of the people who were not resourceful and hence could not
influence investigation or those who were falsely implicated by the
powerful people.
This is also the way of weakening our society and in turn the country.
The cancer of corruption has spread in all spheres of our society
making it un capable of even protecting the people who are dependent
on it viz old, children and women. This has happened to the country
that was ones known for its valour, ethics and strong social system.
Can we ever expect to be developed in true senses with this rot eating
away core of living in our country???
I have decided to fight and do my bit.
I have been advised not to fight since the people who are corrupt are
powerful and can attack me. I guess it is too late for that advice.
While serving in the defence forces for 23 yrs, I was advised by the
same society not to show my back to the people who attacked our
country whatever may be the odds. I have decided to do it through the
non violent way since the enemy is within.

Very sad and shocking.  Chandresh ji, please inform how we can help him?  I will try to highlight this in the media through my media friends, please send me a press release or brief.

I am with Shri Yashwant ji, a very active member of Team Anna, an ex-serviceman retired from very high position and a respectable person.   It is sad that he had to resort to fast for getting justice.

I pray for Yashwantji good health and long life and condemn the murder of his father in strongest term.  I will inform about this to my friend in Jaipur whose father is a renowned doctor there.  Kindly inform your or some active assocation of Yashwant ji mobile number so that he can contact you.

I rue the treatment meted out to him and pray the Rajasthan Govt. to accede to his genuine demands.

I spoke to Shri Anjani Kumar (A.K.) Singh an hour ago.  He had gone to Jaipur yesterday  and met with Shri Yashwant ji. A K Singh told that father of Commandar Yaswant was first kidnapped and than murdered after three four days by some known suspected who were eying his property/shop.  Yashwant ji is demanding a CBI enquiry while the state govt. has offered  for CBCID of SIT inquiry.  He is getting increased local support and today is 8th day.

A letter to the Governor and Chief Minister for ordering CBI inquiry should be sent by DF.  Phone No. of Yashwant ji is 09462655007 and of A K Singh is 9810404496.
Please do the needful urgently.

It is very very distressing to me. I am writing a mail to PM, Ccing
Rajasthan CM and other political heavyweights - keeping media in Bcc.
I will send the mail to DF also soon once I have finalised it.
I am also now lacking in ideas and need all the help from everyone
here. This is already communicated to the seniormost people in IAC
like Arvind Kejriwal, Prashant Bhushan. Still I think further request
to them from DF for more support may help.
Media highlight is the most important part. It is now on main IAC page
as well as IAC Jaipur page.
Request all the support and ideas.
I also think we should all find time to give one ring to the PM and
Rajasthan CM once to ask why CBI enquiry has not been ordered so far.
I have already done it once and have asked others to do it. The
contact no.'s are here:

Call up the PM and ask him what action, if any, is being taken:
O: +91-11-23012312 Fax +91-11-23019545, 23016857
R: +91-11-23018939, 23011156
OR: +91-11-23017660, 23019817 (Parliamentary House)
Please write to Rajasthan CM : cmraj...@nic.in,
cm...@rajasthan.gov.in
Or Call him here:
R: +91(141)2228712, 2228713
O: +91(141)2227656, 2227716

I think most importantly we need to ensure maximum presence to support
Yashwant ji at his fast venue in Jaipur. Please do ask all your
friends who can make it to the place.

Thanks,
Chandresh
(My no. has changed and I am now in Hyderabad else I would probably
have been in Jaipur. New no. +91-9866567024).

To,

Dr. Manmohan Singh,
Prime Minister,
Govt. of India,
New Delhi.

Dear Mr. Manmohan Singh ji,

I am writing to you as an ordinary concerned citizen of our Great
Nation.

I believe you may be aware that Ex-serviceman Mr. Yashwant Prakash
Sharma is on indefinite fast in Jaipur. He is a retired Commander from
Navy. His fast has now entered the 9th day! He is demanding a CBI
enquiry into the murder of his father, a 77 yr. old man. The police
enquiry has completely failed. The police cooked up a case that could
not stand a day in the court of law. On meeting the Rajasthan CM, case
was handed over to CID but the CID took 20 days to appoint an officer
for the case!

Questions that need an answer:
1. Are you aware of the fast ?
2. Any govt. action that has been taken to prevent any health hazard
that may occur to Mr. Yashwant Sharma?
3. Why has CBI enquiry been not ordered so far?
4. Is the life of common man so unsafe even in the state capitals?
What to talk of the smaller towns and villages?
5. It is alleged that the former BJP councillor is behind the murder.
The murder was done for property and postmortem report confirms that
the elderly person was kept hungry and then murdered. Being a strong
political and influential person, the alleged culprit has been able to
influence the case investigation. This makes a perfect case for a CBI
investigation. Why has not the CBI enquiry been ordered then? Why is
the police like a puppet when it comes to high profile cases?
6. I hope you have enough love and respect for your own father - to
dig deep into this case and get it resolved asap.
7. Considering the gravity of the situation and the serious health
hazard that may occur to Mr. Yashwant Sharma, it is my earnest request
for swift action.

Hoping for a positive response,

Chandresh Prakash

Good Yashwant ji.  Bhains ke aage bin bajaane kaa koi fayda nahin hai.  Otherwise, what was the big issue in recommending a cbi inquiry for your satisfaction if u had lost faith in local agencies?

We condemn the murder of your father and offer our condolences.  What more can we do when confronted the insenstive politician and bureaucrats?  Not hearing the just demand in a peaceful manner is the main cause of increasing the naxal and moism which Adivasis have to resort though I do not support that also. Fail to understand what is the way-out.
