Hotels typically provide various bathroom consumables for guest use, such as dental kits, shaving kits, soaps, moisturizers, and similar items. In most cases, the usable quantity in these items exceeds the duration of a guest’s stay. Since these products are meant for personal use, once opened they cannot be reused by the hotel for another guest.

From both economic and environmental perspectives, it is preferable for guests to take any opened consumables with them for future use. If left behind, these items would get discarded.

As guests have paid for their stay—and by extension, for these amenities—they are fully entitled to take them. Moreover, doing so helps reduce unnecessary waste and supports environmentally responsible behavior.

So there could be a communication of this message to guests for example: “Feel free to take home any bathroom amenities you’ve opened during your stay.  They’re meant just for you and cannot be reused, and taking them along helps reduce waste. Thank you for supporting our eco-friendly efforts!”.

I request this may please be considered for inclusion in operating instructions issued.
