ELECTRICITY RATES - BIJLI KAA JHATAKA - PROGRAMME ON DELHI AAJ TAK

Yesterday, I participated in a programme of Delhi Aaj tak on “Bijli Kaa Jhatakaa” which was live from 6.00 p.m. to 7.00.  The programme was on the rates of electricity. On behalf of Dwarka Forum, I raised my voice against the non-audit of DISCOMs accounts by CAG, sale of surplus power by BSES to Reliance Trading Company, a sister company of the same group – merely @ Rs. 1.60 unit. I also demanded bringing the DISCOMS under the ambit of RTI Act. Delhi Aaj Tak will repeat its programme during the day time probably at 12.00 noon.

Honest Customer shall be rewarded with low rate. (No theft in single meter, Less theft in CGHS) 1. Area where transmission losses are less shall be rewarded. 2. Bill collection is problem with CGHS, no legal power to recover from defaulter. 3. Capital & recurring cost due to sub station. 4. Practically Power distribution company out source billing process at lower rate. 5. Bulk residential consumer shall be given good discount. Even Industrial Area single meter shall be introduced with Industrial Association, but no Association will come forward.  Practically only Educated, White Collar people follow the rules without any return.
