Kargil conflict was took place at Kargil district between Pakistan
armed forces and India. The war was first waged by the Kashmiri
militants soon joined by the Pakistan army. Pakistan denied its army
involvement in Kargil war, but their involvement was openly accepted
by Pakistan president and Army major of that time.
After 74 days of war on extreme heights of Kashmir valley, Indian army
finally managed to clear up all the insurgents and Pakistan army and
got back their hold on Kargil.
Indian army and Indian air force played vital role in clearing up the
Pakistan army in 1999. This conflict raised tension all over the
world, as both the countries are fighting their first war after
becoming the nuclear powers.
Country salutes to the Kargil Martyrs.
