*Domestic Consumers to Pay For Ambani’s, Hotels & Malls Electricity Bills
(C)*
While I have been campaigning for Hydro Power in Kashmir and Nepal, GOI is
promoting most expensive 20,000MW Solar Power for its people to be largely
sold to Domestic Consumers.
It will shock people of India that 55% of our people mostly in rural India
couldn’t get access to electricity in 62 years even as they as let their
water and mineral resources plundered by state and GOI but now all the
domestic consumers in cities and towns mostly getting erratic power supply
shall have to shell out twice more for the electricity they consume to pay
for the Electricity Bills of Ambanis living in 175 meters high Residential
Towers and such energy guzzlers, Malls and Hotels etc.
Domestic Electricity consumers are BASE LOAD consumers therefore need be
served by base load stations that cost just Rs.30p per unit for Bhakra Dam
for example.
But instead Domestic Consumers are getting mixed supply meant essentially
for Shops, Single Shift Industries, Malls and High Load Domestic Consumers
who strain power system by drawing excessive loads beyond generation
capacity that results in power cuts to small and medium domestic consumers
who also pay for peaking daily or seasonal demand.
Now with BUNDLING of Solar Power with NTPC power they shall get further
shock.
Why can’t we restrict the connected load to say 5KW to 10KW for domestic
consumers and load beyond that for shops, malls and single shift industry is
restricted by Energy Efficiency Norms – rest of electricity shall be
purchased by users from Solar Power Generators or Let them install Solar
Heating and Cooling equipments?
Following is the relevant paragraph of Renewable Energy Minister at a Solar
Conclave on 11th January at Vigyan Bhawan inaugurated by PM and other
cabinet colleagues.
“The Mission has decided to establish an investor-friendly mechanism which
reduces risk and at the same time, provides an attractive, predictable and
sufficiently extended tariff for the purchase of solar power. The focal
point, for the next 3 years, will be the NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam (NWN),
which is the power trading arm of the NTPC. NWN will purchase solar power at
rates fixed by the Central Regulatory Electricity Commission and for a
period specified by the latter. When the State utilities purchase solar
power from NWN they will get an equivalent amount of thermal power from NWN.
The bundling of more expensive solar power with cheaper thermal power will
enable a much cheaper tariff for the consumer, estimated at about RS.5 or
less per unit, and this will also enable
concerned States to meet their renewable power purchase obligation, which is
now mandatory. I wish to record my deep appreciation and grateful thanks to
my senior Cabinet colleague, Shri Shindeji, who as Minister of Power, has
made this arrangement possible. I am confident that with the investor
friendly arrangement put in place for grid connected solar power, we should
be able to achieve the ambitious targets, set out by the Solar Mission. I am
happy to inform you, Sir, that we have already taken the first steps in this
regard and. that 2MW each of solar power plants have recently been
commissioned at Asansol , West Bengal and at Amritsar, Punjab.”

Ideally govt. should bear the losses due to theft etc as they are not
able to stop. But here we a law abiding citizens have to bear the
burnt of all this.. Electricity theft can't be done without knowledge
of anyone.. I won't do such acts unless i know whole colony does this
and than all of them know so and so MLA/MP will protect them.
And also there are people even in societies who indulge in all this i
feel.. I recall 5-6 years back the currnet president of the society
used to get a bill of <50 units when there were 2 ACs in his house but
it got fixed when everyone shouted and we asked BSES. So we all
should keep our eyes open to prevent any theft in dwarka.
regards
Krishna

Dwarka gets a new grid stationTNN, 22 January 2010, 11:07pm ISTNEW DELHI: Chief minister Sheila Dikshit inaugurated power discom BSES Rajdhani's fourth grid station in Dwarka on Friday. Besides improving the
Other large customers who will benefit from this Grid include Guru Gobind Singh IP University, Delhi Jal Board Pumping Station and a mall. Dikshit said, "I am sure this Grid will fulfil the demands of the residents and commercial and other establishments in this fast-developing area.'' She further stated that her government has ensured a comfortable summer ahead for Delhiites as power supply from Bawana Gas-based power plant, Indira Gandhi Power Plant at Jhajjar, NDPLs gas-based power plant at Rohini and Dadri would supply enough power to meet the demand. Local MP Mahabal Mishra while describing the last ten years as an unprecedented era of development in Delhi, also demanded commissioning of a grid sub-station at Vikaspuri. He added that Dwarka which is planned sub-city will soon become a centre of attraction because of its unique infrastructure and civic services. According to officials, this state-of-the-art 66/11 KV Grid sub-station, has been constructed at a total cost of over Rs 14 crore, keeping in mind the present and future requirement of this fast developing sub-city. The Grid will have an initial capacity of 40 MVA (2x20 MVA), which will be expanded to 65 MVA over the next few months. |
We fully support you for the benefit of Dwarkaites. With such a long experience of the relevant field, Dwarka residents will be benefitted by your representaion to the concerned authorities.
