Only a few more days before this year's festival kicks off! We wanted to bring to your attention some important information regarding access to the Salem County Fair Grounds, and camping there during the festival:

* WEEKEND TICKET HOLDERS may camp on the grounds during the festival at NO EXTRA CHARGE, however, ONLY weekend ticket holders may camp.

* The festival gate will open on WEDNESDAY MORNING, SEPT. 1 at 9:00 AM. This is the earliest that campers may enter the grounds. Due to insurance issues, the Fair Grounds Association will NOT permit festival patrons on the grounds prior to this date and time. As was the case the last couple of years, we are expecting to have New Jersey State Police on hand during that Wednesday "morning rush" to help get campers in off of Route 40 and into the outer field as rapidly as possible when the gates open so they can obtain their wristbands and vehicle passes

* In addition to wristbands for each individual weekend ticket holder, campers will be issued a vehicle pass in the form of a "mirror hanger". This pass must be displayed at all times the vehicle is on the grounds. "Day trippers" are permitted to visit in the campground, however, they must park in the day parking lot (out along Rt. 40), and will not be permitted to take their vehicles into the campground.

* Campers are permitted to leave and re-enter the festival grounds on a 24-hour basis, PROVIDED they display their wristbands and vehicle passes on re-entry.

* IMPORTANT: the gate will be CLOSED for ticket sales each evening at 10:00 pm, and wil re-open at 6:00 am. During this overnight period, security guards will permit only wristband holders  and vehicles with valid passes (as described above) to pass into and out of the grounds. Whether you have purchased tickets in advance or plan to purchase them at the gate, you should plan on arriving during the hours the gate is open for sales. If you arrive during this overnight period without a ticket, you may park your vehicle in front of the gate and stay in your vehicle overnight, but you will not be permitted to take it into the grounds until you have received your wristband(s) and vehicle pass in the morning.

* There is a LIMITED NUMBER of electrical outlets available to campers, though these are at an extra charge that is assessed directly by the Salem County Fair Grounds Association that will be collected separately by their designated representative who will visit your campsite - NOT at the gate by the Brandywine Friends of Old Time Music (festival promoters). There are a number of water outlets around the grounds that campers may use to obtain fresh water. In addition to the restroom building behind the main stage, there will be regularly serviced portable toilets located around the entire grounds. Ice is available for purchase in the concession area from morningtime until performances end in the evening, and there are a Wawa store and an Acme supermarket a short distance down Route 40.

* A popular feature on the grounds the last two years has been a stand selling locally-grown fresh Jersey produce to campers, and we expect those folks to be returning this year. Also, the main food concession will again be operated this year by Lapp Catering, and we expect they will have a variety of breakfast offerings available again in addition to their lunch and dinner fare.

* The festival officially ends at 6:00 pm on Sunday evening. The Fair Grounds Association does permit campers to stay over on Sunday night, and asks that the grounds be cleared by 10:00 am Monday morning

If you have additional questions, please feel free to end them to us at in...@delawarevalleybluegrass.org
