We're in the final stages of finalizing the lineup for the 2010 edition
of the Delaware Valley Bluegrass Festival (our 39th year!), and are on
track to announce the full lineup on or about December 1, as has been
our custom the last few years. Over the next few weeks, though, we plan
to let you folks on our mailing list know about some of the acts we
have confirmed bookings for, beginning with the Kenny and Amanda Smith
Band on Friday, September 3.
Since winning the IBMA Emerging Artist award in 2003, guitarist Kenny
Smith (formerly of the Lonesome River Band) and his wife Amanda (lead
singer for the band, who credits Alison Krauss as a major influence on
her career and singing) have become known not only for excellence in
traditional bluegrass, but for sterling gospel material as well, and
this will mark their first appearance at Delaware Valley (though Kenny
appeared as part of Lonesome River on two occasions).
Find out more about the band at
www.kenny-amandasmith.com.
Kenny and Amand join the performers we previously announced on this list on September 10:
Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver
Riders In The Sky
Cherryholmes
Seldom Scene
Chris Jones & The Night Drivers
The 2010 Delaware Valley Bluegrass Festival will take place Labor Day
Weekend (Friday, September 3 - Saturday, September 6) at our longtime
venue, the Salem County Fair Grounds on US 40 west of Woodstown, New
Jersey. It has been sponsored annually since 1972 by the non-profit
Brandywine Friends of Old Time Music. For more info, write to
