Hi,

I am trying to record events as well as frames from two Davis camera but I am facing some issues:
  • why the frame rate [frame] is too low, in my case only 1.7 ~1.8 fps and how to get better fps?
  • How can I start the two camera modules and/or recoding modules at the same time so that the record starts from the same timestamp/time?
  • Is it [screenshot attached] the right way to record from two cameras?
Any help is appreciated!

Hello, the frame rate is probably low because there isn't much light
and it has to increase the exposure time. In the camera configuration,
you can reduce 'Frame Interval' to 0, and check what the value for
'Exposure' is, I expect it will be very high. You can disable
'AutoExposure' and then change the value of 'Exposure' manually, lower
values means more FPS.

The structure you built in DV is the right way to record from two
cameras, yes. To start them simply press the two record buttons one
after another, the two recordings won't be perfectly aligned but you
can do that in post-processing. There is no way currently to start
multiple modules at the same time, nor would it really matter because
there's always OS-related unpredictable delays (scheduling, USB, ...),
so just start them normally, record the data, and process it later. The
timestamps are absolute for exactly that reason.

Hope this helps, have a nice week!

Thank you Luca Longinotti. It solves my problem. After adjusting exposure manually I am getting better fps (e.g: exposure = 15000, fps ~ 30).
