Hi,

I have an ARM embedded systems where it is running the dv-runtime version 1.1.3. After the last DV-GUI update in my ubuntu laptop I realize that I cannot connect my dv-gui software with my dv-runtime that runs in the embedded system. Both are in the same network, and I run the dv-runtime with the --allinterfaces=1 flag.
This setup worked for previous version of dv-gui, but not for the latest update. So I was wondering if I can download an older version compatible with my dv-runtime or if I can  downgrade my actual dv-gui in ubuntu.
I was looking in the inivation package repository in ubuntu but I only see the newest version.

Thank in advance,
Antonio

Hello, I can confirm the issue. I've committed a fix to DV-GUI and you
can now connect to old, external runtimes such as version 1.1.3 again.

For Windows and macOS you can find the latest test releases with the
fix here:
https://inivation.gitlab.io/dv/dv-docs/docs/getting-started.html#bleeding-edge-releases
For Linux we don't have GUI test releases available, nor do the Ubuntu
repos store any older version of the packages to downgrade.

What you can try is to manually override the dv-gui install with a
fixed version:
1) download
https://s3.eu-central-1.amazonaws.com/release.inivation.com/gui/dv-gui-linux-a27625e5.tar.gz
2) extract it over the current content in /opt/dv-gui/

Next time an official upgrade (eg. version 1.4.2) comes out, it will
either work automatically and override, or the apt package-manager will
complain, and you can then manually delete /opt/dv-gui, uninstall the
package and install the updated version.

I highly recommed you update your runtime nonetheless on the embedded
system.

Hope this helps, have a nice day!
