Hi all,

I am seeing a fixed black spot in the event frame of my DAVIS346. The spot is always at the same position in the image. Even when an object moves through that area, no events are triggered there.

At the same time, the APS/frame output looks normal in that region.

So this seems to be a problem only in the DVS/event output, not in the APS image.

Has anyone encountered something similar before?
What is the most likely cause — local DVS pixel failure, readout issue, threshold/bias setting, or light-related interference?

Any advice would be very helpful. Thanks.

Hello, you're pretty much listed all options for such a failure and in the same order of probability as I would have.
Most likely is some kind of pixel malfunction that's the opposite of a hot-pixel: instead of always sending events, it never does.
It is possible that changing the biases and using much stronger light can influence these to sometimes emit an event, same as for hot-pixels.
If there's more than 2 problematic pixels, and they really react to nothing, please contact support to arrange a replacement.
Hope this helps, have a nice day!
