Hello, this is indeed a rare firmware update gone bad. I see you're already in contact with our support for a replacement, which is the only solution here.
For our records, what version of DV / Flashy were you running on the PC when you made the firmware update?

To summarize all we know on this issue:
- this only affects DVXplorer/Lite, not Mini/Micro.
- symptoms of failure are the MASTER LED blinking continuously and the USB LED staying off.
- there is no hardware issue that we're aware of.
- there was a firmware update for DVXplorer/Lite to add IMU calibration support, which was released internally on 2024-02 and flashed to new cameras from then, and also released officially for older cameras on 2024-10 with Flashy 1.7.1.
- this firmware update required both firmware and FPGA logic to be updated at the same time and be in-sync, or the device won't be able to boot (boot-loop).
- old Flashy versions before 1.7.0 allowed the user to down-grade firmware/logic, so if you opened a new device (build date after 2024-02) with such an old version it would propose an "update" which would actually downgrade, causing the versions to be out-of-sync, and break. As far as we know, this is the root cause of the issues seen by customers. This can also happen if you attach a fully up-to-date camera to a very old system running old DV/Flashy versions: it will then complain about firmware version and offer an "update", which is a downgrade and was never meant to happen, downgrades were never supported and only an error in the Flashy code made the buttons show up.
- due to an error in our CI/CD and packaging scripts, this old version of Flashy was distributed for longer than expected on some platforms, especially Windows and Ubuntu. Flashy version 1.7.2 on 2025-03-01 finally ensured all platforms had the same, fixed code distributed in their DV/Flashy packages.
- old Flashy versions before 2.0.0 allowed the user to update firmware and logic separately, so if they did first update one and then re-plug the device to update the other after, it would break too. We are not aware of this actually happening to users in the wild.
- this kind of failure is unrecoverable, the USB motherboard has to be replaced, please contact sup...@inivation.com to arrange a replacement.
- all our software released after 2025-03-01 should do the right thing, please make sure to run the newest software only, especially when doing firmware updates!
- only do firmware updates if prompted by the software, read carefully: https://docs.inivation.com/hardware/hardware-advanced-usage/firmware-update.html
