I am currently performing stereo calibration using the DAVIS346.
The software I am using is dv.

The procedure I followed is as follows:

  • First, I performed monocular calibration individually for each camera.

  • Then, I conducted stereo calibration using the calibration files obtained from the monocular calibration.

However, the epipolar line error has not improved.

I suspect there may be an issue with frame synchronization.
If you could advise on how to verify whether synchronization is correctly achieved, and if there are any specific recommendations or precautions for reducing the epipolar line error, I would greatly appreciate your guidance.

Hello, while the timestamps are synchronized, frame capture is not, and the current hardware doesn't support this.
The timestamps are correct, just the time at which each camera captures a frame can start at different moments.
I think this could only be a problem if the cameras are moving very fast during calibration, slow, preferably stop&start motion should not care about minimal timing differences like that.
Other than that I don't have any recommendations for epipolar line error reduction.
Hope this helps, have a great week!
