Hello, I installed dv-runtime on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS (jammy, amd64) using the official PPAs (ubuntu-toolchain-r/test and inivation-ppa/inivation). DV GUI cannot connect to the runtime because dv-runtime fails to launch: it reports that libfmt.so.9 is missing.

My installed package is dv-runtime 1.7.1-1~jammy. The package dependencies list libfmt-dev, but Ubuntu 22.04 only provides libfmt8 and there is no libfmt9 package available via apt on jammy.

Could you advise the recommended fix? Is the jammy dv-runtime package expected to depend on/provide fmt v9, or should it be built against fmt v8 for Ubuntu 22.04?

The inivation PPA itself provides fmt 9.1.0 for Ubuntu Jammy, see:
This is also then used by the PPA build servers to build dv-runtime, and should always be automatically installed.
I just tried with a Jammy Docker and indeed it fetches the right one:

Get:250 https://ppa.launchpadcontent.net/inivation-ppa/inivation/ubuntu jammy/main amd64 libfmt-dev amd64 9.1.0-1~jammy [177 kB]

and dv-runtime then works properly.
Hope this helps!
