Welcome to the February/March edition of our newsletter for the Dutch-American community!
Sjoelen, Oorlogswinter, Nederlands Dans Theater...Our website currently lists more than 100 upcoming events throughout the United States. A random selection: in King City, Oregon an Sjoelen Championship will be held and the Dutch Women's National Rugby Team will make an appearance in Las Vegas, NV. While exact locations have not been announced yet, Los Angeles and New York will see the U.S. premiere of Winter in Wartime, a film by Martin Koolhoven after Jan Terlouw's book "Oorlogswinter", on March 18. The Nederlands Dans Theater, a contemporary dance group, will tour the United States, visiting Berkeley, Los Angeles and Chapel Hill, NC. More information on these events and many more:

family homestead in upstate New York, and the eleven generations of the
Staats family who have lived there.

Dutch-American Bert Blyleven in Hall of FameNetherlands-born baseball player Bert Blyleven was elected into the
Baseball Hall of Fame today. Blyleven was born Rik Aalbert Blijleven in
Zeist, the Netherlands, and he becomes the first Dutch-American to be
inducted to the Hall of Fame.

Nostalgic trans-Atlantic crossing Rotterdam-New YorkCruise company Holland America Line will offer two nostalgic
trans-Atlantic crossings next summer, re-sailing the classic itinerary
