Find your phone, get a custom wake-up call, receive emergency alerts from home devices, and more. Only US-based numbers can connect to this service. This service has a cap of 100 calls per month. If you don't see a phone option, it's possible that your organization doesn't allow you to use this option for verification. In this case, you'll need to choose another method or contact your organization's help desk for more assistance.

Your security info is updated and you can use phone calls to verify your identity when using two-step verification or password reset. If you want to make phone calls your default method, see the Change your default security info method section of this article.

Select Yes from the confirmation box to delete the Phone number. After your phone number is deleted, it's removed from your security info and it disappears from the Security info page. If Phone is your default method, the default will change to another available method.

If you want phone calls to be the default method used when you sign-in to your work or school account using two-factor verification or for password reset requests, you can set it from the Security info page.

I recently installed a ring intercom and I would find it more useful if we could get a phone call styled notification instead of a simple push notification that we have to click on. In other words, get the interface we can see on the screenshot below directly.

I just received a phone call from 615-200-0273 with a woman with an Asian accent saying i was chosen to attend some Southwest Airlines event in downtown Nashville. For attending, I would receive 8 Southwest tickets. She then handed my call over to a man with an Asian accent as a "manager". I figure this is a scam but wanted to come to Southwest and see what the community said.

Just received a phonecall from someone with a foreign accent inviting me to a Southwest open house in Scottsdale, Arizona, and wanted to give me 2 round-trip tickets. Sorry, nothing is free unless you win a contest! Started chatting with him because I am a SW member and live in Arizona AND Arizona is one of SW's hubs. But as soon as he wanted me to talk to a manager, I bailed on the call; it just did not feel right. Besides, as he was chatting I googled 'SW OPEN HOUSE SCAM' and found this forum. Call came from 602-680-8757 (AZ area code).

FYI,
Mayo has started doing "Telephone Medical Information Review" phone calls prior to some appointments. I had one this morning for an oncology appt tomorrow. The representative said they just started this week. Quick 5 minute call to review items they use to do in office prior to seeing provider.

@gingerw ,
To answer your question about how I felt about call, I was OK with phone call, but I am retired and it did not interrupt my day. If I had a busy schedule, was traveling or was in place unable to take a private call, I would not appreciate.

Only thing covered in call not in pre-check-in portal questions is representative asking if I had any questions about upcoming appointment. If I was new to Mayo or not sure what to expect, that would be opportunity to ask questions.

An appointment showed up in my Patient Portal saying Telephone Medical Information Review. The time they gave me is not a good time but I see no way to change the time. Who sets this up? I'm not new to Mayo and am not new to either department I'm scheduled for in July. I always do my pre check-ins and my medicine list is updated. Are these calls on time and how long do they take? What exactly are they looking for? And why can't I change the time? This is so strange.

@mntwins808, as you likely read from @roch's post, you'll know that Telephone Medical Information Reviews were recently added to improve the flow of your appointment and to save you and your team time. See her initial post to learn more about what is asked during the information Review -medical-information-review-phone-call

The following link can be used to make a clickable phone link. You can copy the code below and paste it into your webpage, then edit with your phone number. This code may not work on all phones but does work for iPhone, Droid / Android, and Blackberry.

WTAI smartphone link code:The WTAI or "Wireless Telephony Application Interface" link code is shown below. This code is considered to be the correct mobile phone protocol and will work on smartphones like Droid, however, it may not work for Apple Safari on iPhone and the above code is recommended.

When playing back video from Nest cameras in the Google Home app (on Android), the audio from the cameras plays back as a phone call rather than typical media. That also means it defaults to playing through the earpiece or my Bluetooth headset (which I only have setup for calls) rather than the speakers.

And finally, the audio connection to the Bluetooth headset remains even after I leave the app so that no other audio can play through the headset. You'll also see this if you're in a vehicle with Android Auto, where the vehicle believes an active phone call is occurring even after leaving the app. Only a force close of the app ends the connection.

The Commission's Enforcement Bureau took action after MV Realty apparently used Twilio networks and PhoneBurner dialing tools to flood homeowners with robocalls with misleading claims about mortgages. (News Release - January 24, 2023)

Advances in technology have unfortunately allowed illegal and spoofed robocalls to be made from anywhere in the world and more cheaply and easily than ever before. That's why it's become more of a problem for consumers, and a more difficult problem to solve.

Keep in mind that many robocalls are legal. While we have taken several actions, and continue to work on reducing illegal robocalls, it is a difficult problem that requires complex solutions. The most complex part is identifying the illegal calls in real time to be able to block them without blocking lawful calls.

Callers must have your prior express written consent before making telemarketing calls using a prerecorded or artificial voice. Telephone solicitation calls to your home are prohibited before 8 am or after 9 pm.

Telemarketers are no longer able to make telemarketing robocalls to your wireline home telephone based solely on an "established business relationship" that you may have established when purchasing something from a business or contacting the business to ask questions.

A consumer's written or oral consent is required for autodialed, prerecorded, or artificial voice calls or texts made to your wireless number, with a few exceptions such as emergency calls regarding danger to life or safety. Consent must be in writing for telemarketing robocalls. Telemarketers have never been permitted to make robocalls to your wireless phone based solely on an "established business relationship" with you.

Not all robocalls are illegal. There are several factors to consider: the technology used to make the call, whether the call is to a landline or a mobile number, whether the content of the call is telemarketing, and whether the called number is on the National Do Not Call Registry.

Market research or polling calls to home wireline numbers are not restricted by FCC rules, nor are calls on behalf of tax-exempt non-profit groups. Informational messages such as school closings or flight information to your home phone are permissible without prior consent. The rules do require all prerecorded calls, including market research or polling calls, to identify the caller at the beginning of the message and include a contact phone number. Autodialed or prerecorded calls to wireless phones are prohibited without prior express consent, regardless of the call's content, with a few exceptions such as emergency calls regarding danger to life or safety.

Autodialers that deliver a prerecorded message must release the called party's telephone line within five seconds of the time that the calling system receives notification that the called party's line has hung up. In some areas, you could experience a delay before you can get a dial tone again. Your local telephone company can tell you if there is a delay in your area.
