For those of you interested, Battle Front clarified their plans for dust Warfare yesterday...

Dust Warfare Update.

To clarify a bit on our previous statement, especially regarding DUST Warfare:

*All products released as a part of Waves 1 through 7 will continue to be sold by FFG.  This includes Warfare rulebooks and .pdfs that have been released till now.

*Moving forward, as we’ve mentioned, we are absolutely continuing to support Warfare!

*We will be including Warfare cards with all new releases.

*We will be releasing PDFs of all new campaign books.

*Decks of cards will be able to be purchased containing every DUST Warfare card to date with our brand new design.

*Landing pages for both Tactics and Warfare will be added to our website containing resources for both games.

*Our starter boxes, while they are compatible with Warfare now (or will be in the case of the SSU!), we will also offer the pieces individually down the road so Warfare players will not need to buy Tactics accessories they do not want.

*Heroes will be split out and sold separately.

We are humbled by the passionate response from the community.  We’re passionate too!  We’ve already committed hundreds of studio hours to both Tactics AND warfare, and we definitely don’t want to see our hard work go to waste!  We will make mistakes.  But we will persevere and do our best to make The World of DUST stronger than ever!

This looks better then the fumble they posted the day before.  It was a bit shocking to me reading through comments in the facebook thread that both FFG and Pablo had to tell them that they actually did have the rights to Warfare after all...  I wish there was a revised hardback rule-book and faction Army Books on the Horizon which definitely isn't going to happen any time soon if ever... but this reassured me enough that I made some room in my painting Queue before the end of the year to try to get some new SSU stuff painted and I starting to plan out what I want to purchase/paint up first for my German army early next year.

My 2 cents...

I'm confused by the first part. Are they just saying FFG will continue to sell out their remaining stock? Or that FFG will continue to produce and deliver Waves 1-7?

Sell out remaining stock and once out BF with take over distribution, at least for the models.  I am not sure this will apply to the rule-books.  I know there is some problems with the FFG logos and other minor details on the existing Wave 1 - 7 model boxes and books that BF will eventually have to change before reprinting or do redesigned boxes for them.  Sounds like in the long run they will be splitting up the stuff in the start boxes into their own individual boxes so it is like we will see new boxes for everything, probably in the same style as the preview unit card boxes.

I am hoping once the Rulebook back stock starts getting low BF will either revamp the existing warfare rules, or release them all as PDFs with some minor fixes (added the FAQ fixes at least) until they can work up a v2 book. It would be stupid of them not to do something eventually with all the work they are putting into revamping Tactics.

Jay has the right of it.

Basically, based on how BF has been, I don't think they have understood the Warfare market OR game in North America. They are offering cursory support. We can only hope they improve.
