2025 DAPP Elections, plus Farm tourney discount and Durham Bond

Good afternoon, all. Fall is apparently arriving on Tuesday, so dust your tights off!

Just a few notes for today:

1. 2025 DAPP Officers and Board--DAPP needs you!
2. Discounted registration for the Farm Pickleball Autumn Invitational (Oct 18-20)
3. Durham Parks and Recreation Bond-Vote Yes!

1. 2025 DAPP Office and Board Seats

I'll pass on all the details about 2025 DAPP elections in the next email, but for now, start thinking about running for a 2025 seat. Many current board members are either unavailable next year, or have already served the maximum length of time in their position and must move on.

If you've ever said "I wish ... the court lights came on earlier, or the Piney court rotation worked differently (or stayed the same), or the court sharing rules were different, or court reservations worked differently", well, DAPP is for you.  

DAPP is the umbrella under which pickleball players can band together to present a unified front to Durham Parks and Rec and the Durham City Council.  It doesn't take assignments, instead it provides a common place for the community to organize.  If you want something to happen, join DAPP and make it so!

Again, updates to follow.  For now, just reconcile yourself to running for a 2025 seat. :-) Remember, I know who you are.

2. Discounted registration for the Farm PB Autumn Invitational (Oct 18-20)

The Farm Pickleball Autumn Invitational 2024 is graciously providing one free bracket to DAPP members who follow this link to sign up for the tournament. 

I played in the tournament last year and so can vouch for it personally.  Play is round robin, so you're guaranteed lots of games.

I'll happily post discounts for other tournaments, just send me a link!

3. Durham Parks and Recreation Bond

This bond will build things for us! Vote yes on Nov 5, or during early voting.
