Hi folks,
Please see below for a message from Veggie Van, which is looking to bring fresh produce to communities in Durham that have limited access to fresh food. If you know of communities and/or community organizations that might be a good fit to work with Veggie Van, please contact  Jillian Mickens. Her contact information appears below.

Thanks much,
Rochelle

The Veggie Van is a program of Community Nutrition Partnership (CNP), a non-profit organization based in Orange County, NC.

The Veggie Van brings reduced cost boxes of fresh North Carolina grown fruits and vegetables to communities that might not otherwise have access to a enough healthy foods. The Veggie Van also provides cooking demonstrations, nutrition information and recipes to help people create delicious, healthy meals with their Veggie Van produce.  The Veggie Van targets communities that have limited access to fresh produce either because of location or affordability. We partner with organizations that are already serving our these communities such as churches, community centers and day cares.

The Veggie Van is currently looking for Durham community sites to serve starting this Spring.  If you know of a community that is in need of increased access to fresh produce, please email Jillian Mickens, Veggie Van Coordinator at vegg...@cnpnc.org.
