Hi all, the Durham Farmland Protection Advisory Board has invited anyone interested to attend a farmer breakfast on January 23. Details below.
-- ------------------------------------------------------
I want to invite you to a breakfast that the Durham Farmland Protection Advisory Board is hosting next week. The hope is to turn these into a series that will create an informal opportunity for farmers to network regularly and to pick up information on topics of interest to the farming community. Our last breakfast led to some really interesting discussions that enabled folks to share information on topics that weren't part of any planned agenda. The next one will be held January 23 from 8 to 9:15 a.m., at 1803 Tilley Farm Road, in Rougemont, at the home of Roger and Lisa Tilley.
Starting at 8:45 a.m., we'll have a brief presentation on the topic of fire ant control. There will be a Q&A period from 9-9:15. We'll have coffee, juice, biscuits and bagels. Even if you don't currently have a fire ant issue, I hope you'll come to meet & mingle with other Durham farmers, and to share your ideas for future topics. I hope to see you there!
Please RSVP to Lisa Marochak by January 18 at
(919) 560-0558 if you are able to come, so we make sure to have enough food.
And, if you can't make this one but would like to be on the list for future breakfasts, please reply to me. Please also share if you know of someone who may be interested.
Regards,
Kathryn Spann
Chair, Durham Farmland Protection Advisory Board
