Recentlyinstalled a new modem and router, resulting in a new network name, and now cannot for the life of me get my Pixma Pro-100 reconnected. I've gone throught the connections procedure countless times - pressing and holding the blue wifi button on the printer - but the power button never flashes and even though I go ahead and press the WPS button on the router, it still never connects and I get the yellow error light. This is immensely frustrating and is impacting my livelihood. HELP!

If you cannot get the wireless button to flash rapidly, power off the printer, wait, perform the resume/cancel operation, wait, and press (hold) the Wifi button again until it begins flashing and is ready to be "paired'

Hi Rick - yes I assume the WPS is configured correctly as every other device on the network has been connected and working fine. I'll check out the procedure you suggest and revert back. Can't thank you enough amgo.

It is connected to my wifi network. But when I turn the printer on, it will never connect the first time. I must turn it on once, then turn it off, then turn it on again--even though the first time the wifi light is solid, and not blinking. I can't for the life of me figure out why turning the printer on a second time would be successful and the first time is not. The problem repeats itself daily. The same model in the other location connects like a charm every time.

Does anyone else have this problem, and if so is anyone aware of a solution? A wired connection is not feasible because the printer is in a different room from my computers. However, the wifi connection is solid. Once it is connected, it never disconnects. Its just the initial connection that is problematic.

You do know you really do not even have to power down the printer. You leave it on 24/7 without a so gle issue. That might be a short term solution for you. If not, then you might have to live with it. Or move the Printrer to the co outer room and connect vie USB. Call Cannon for a possible solution.

Thanks for the replies. I can definitely live with it, and I will leave the printer turned on for a few days at a time if doing a lot of printing. There is no point in calling Canon because this was purchased from Canon Brasil. If you live in North American or Europe, think of your worst customer service experience and multiply the severity by 10--and that's Brasilian service (even though products cost two or three times as much here). However, it did come with a two year guarantee so at least I'm covered for a long while should the wifi conk out totally. Just as an aside, Canon paper is horribly priced here, although the ink for this printer is not all that high in relation to North American prices. But it does take a month for delivery from the Brasil Canon store so I've already ordered replacement cartridges. I am in Canada frequently enough that I'll just bring paper from there because I already have a bunch sitting there for the same printer installed in my place in Canada. The problem is size---A4 is the common size here, letter in Canada. Frames in Brasil are all A4.

AS jtoolman says you can configure the printer in the Maintenance tab of the driver to Auto Off, which will put the printer to sleep after a set time period and then wake it up when you call for a print.

I'd recommend you view your router's activity including the system log during both attempts. It may be a simple configuration change, such as assigning its own IP address. If your router is dual band, maybe dedicating one band to the printer will put it out of competition from other devices.

I had a similar problem when I tried to setup my wireless connection. Don't know how but I showed two different printers and ports, one for the regular driver and a second for the WPS driver. My system, router, and printer were all having problems making connection. Finally, I realized my wife and grandchildren were using their equipment and my router was making assignment changes during the install. A printer network config printout showed me there was a mismatch, and Windows printer properties showed a port issue as well. I saw Joe's video and thought it would be that easy, but it wasn't.

My fix was to make a static assignment in my wireless router, uninstall the printer and drivers, reset the printer with a 10-light reset. Then I installed the printer again as a 1st time setup and all went well. I now have both drivers sharing the same port. The Canon IJ Network Tool may help. It showed the port mismatch with the drivers and at one time couldn't connect to the WPS driver. This may be what you need to do as well to help the system make the wireless assignment the first time around.

Be aware the when you turn the printer off with the front power button, it seals off the cartridges. Mine is always plugged into A/C. This keeps the head and cartridges from drying out. I keep mine plugged into a UPS 24/7 to preserve the heads and ink.

I revisited my problem a few days ago after an absence of a few weeks. After my original post I initially tried a fixed IP, with no success. So I decided to remove all Canon associated software, drivers, installations etc and start again. I again had the same problem without a fixed IP, but this time around changing the printer to a fixed IP solved the problem. I'm now connecting via wi-fi without having to turn on the printer a second time. Problem solved. Thanks again to everyone for their advice.

Hello, I recently changed the wifi setting of my network, we changed the network password, and now the printer is offline and I haven been able to reset it. I tried connecting it to my mac and going through the setup again, but it doesn't work, the wifi light blinks fast and the cancel button lights up, y restarted the router. I'm trying to follow this instructions here -wss.com/gds/1/0300008421/01/PRO-10_PRO-100_NonPC_EN.pdf but I don't know what the access point is? How can I fix this?

Hi, I don't really understand, so my computer is connected to the internet via wifi, and the printer is connected to my computer while I do the setup, am I supposed to restart the router while I press the wifi button of the printer? Because I did try to restart the router while the cancel button of the printer was blinking, but that didn't work.

Yes, after a futile search on the Canon support website, I found this forum. Here are the steps I followed for my Macbook based on previous posts. I needed to set up a wireless connection after changing my router:
